It does lol, fuel pump and injectors. Plus half the dci's that get driven to complete empty on the tank loads of times are more often to have fuel system failure. I've fixed to many dci fuel systems now to realise they're built s**t.
The engine itself will be fine tho
Mines straight through, no cat no boxes . Altho you might need some sort of silencer as they do sound loud lol
Think your cat is in the same place as mine, back of engine under the turbo
No throttle body on DCI's either. They have an EGR and a mass airflow sensor ( plus boost map sensor )
not as easy to fix as a petrol , it's always the fecking fuel systems on these that go and it's a guessing game which bit. Fault codes say one thing and it'll be something else
does it look like a flat snapped think with two tags to ' grip ' it? Haynes manual says to make one but my mate did it on his kangoo and broke the fuel line peg off :o
we emptied it to half a tank and dad managed to close the gap a few mm more.
i'll give it ago tommorow after the 200mile trip home (if it gets me home ) see if I can get it locked again
Why couldn't they of designed it like a German car!!! Three Allen bolts and a proper gasket...
not some shitty plastic ring that I have shredded my hands on
Im going to have to pop down when I get back From my dads, not even dads grizzly hands could get it tight enough.
it goes tight but then one little bit more , the lock ring pops off again -.-
ah well it's runs and I've drained the tank to half lol
lol at using a screw driver, who ever had it...
Hi all, just put a new locking ring on after noticing my old one was leaking,
had to ring Adam and Fred to find out how it's done, took it for a drive and it's still leaking diesel.
So my old man has stripped it down and tried again, he thinks it sealed but when I put pressure by hand on the...
Rattling noise? All plugs pushed in properly? Mine went skitts last time I left one of the plugs slightly out.
Their is dial diagonostics and check but doubt it'll reset them
Any garage will do it for you, new cambelt when pump is done put on.
Ring a diesel specialist near you and ask for a quote to do the work if you supply replacement parts.
PM Alex on here as he's done it twice where as ive only had to do the filter and pump on mine seems as my was caught on...
If those little bits in your tank are the only bits not like Alex's tank was, you have a fighting chance to get it drained and everything on the fuel system cleaned ready for a new pump ( or recon )
It has to be cleaned like a operating theatre tho or it'll f**k the new pump up
Fuel filter...
Only thing remotely Intresting at my work is a Tvr speed six rebuilt by my boss ( ex Tvr engineer ) and painted in Subaru sti blue.
sounds like thunder when started lol
Get a proper decat made, the standard one bashed out isn't brilliant for power tuning.
Got mine made out of stainasteel (sp) with two new flanges for around 80-100£
