I do agree with @Waitey that if it’s top end, out and out power you want, turbo may be the answer.
Problem is, it can get expensive and they aren’t very reliable.
I went supercharger because it suits my driving style better and i’m not a big fan of “drama” in terms of power delivery. I was...
Same as what I had. In that case, it will make a noticeable difference when in. I found it gave the car the extra legs in straights, and the extra power coming out of the corners, which meant it more than punched above it’s weight on track against some very expensive machinery.
In the situation you’re in, yes, it makes sense in terms of power gain to cost / hassle.
I found mine very reliable, great on track because of the power delivery being more “naturally aspirated” in its nature.
The only thing i’d recommend is a diff if you don’t have one. Otherwise you’ll just...
Another vote for vapour blasting. I painted mine and it was an absolute ball ache. Yeah, you can get it to look good, but for the hassle and effort, vapour blast by someone looks very good value for money to me. Here was mine pre and charger. My second piece of advice, don’t paint anything white;
As others have said, check the fluid levels and the brake pads. Take a tyre pressure gauge and tyre pump. Check wheel nuts regularly.
Other than that, agree 100 per cent with what @Mr Burns says, enjoy yourself at your own pace. It’s about fun and exploring the car, not a race.
Oh, and I found...
After a few “hard sessions” on track, mine basically failed and we couldn’t find where the fault was. With the light on the dash it would fail it’s MOT and so instead of chasing the fault and throwing money fixing a system I didn’t want, I just ripped the whole lot out and put a cup set up in 😂
Regarding the ABS, is it still going to be road legal / MOT’d?
If so, i’d 100 per cent get a cup. I ripped the ABS out of the flamer and swapped to a cup setup. Doing the work was fine, getting the car through MOT’s due to the brake bias / low braking on these cars at the rear was a right ball...
@Ianboom
With the greatest respect, can you advise where you live, so I never move there.
People stripping cars on drives and stealing cars the day they’re bought?
Is is “oop norf?”
Top job, as ever. Need to get down the unit for a weekend of beer, chuckles and sort the S6 in the summer. It’s got buffer trails where some garage womble has clearly got overexcited.
No fighting though! X
Just to put this to bed, @imprezaworks is bang on, more pedestrians than bikes hence the figure you posted as a total looks higher for pedestrians, but proportionately motorcyclists are at a higher risk than all other road users (except cyclists).
ROSPA sum it up nicely in their road casualty...
Another favoured trick is to just lie down where you spawn. There are that many dead people, you can’t tell what’s alive on the floor vs what’s dead. Especially good if you spawn in a corner.
On shipment (container map) try to get up into the container that’s higher than ground level. Means you can survive for about 30 seconds longer than normal 😂
