I thought it looked more like they've welded an olive joint onto the end of the sleeved milltek decat and that's why they are still using a normal clamp
I've just bought a 1.4 mk3 as a run about and it's the slowest thing I've ever drove, including smaller engined cars.
I wouldn't even bother thinking about it as the engine is terrible.
I think that is the bonnet alarm switch cable. I just took the switch off mine as I had the same problem, no switch is the same as having the bonnet shut.
The tail pipes no. But 182 decats do clamp onto the centre section as it uses an olive joint unless you buy a sleeved decat.
Although I'd personally never use that fire putty crap as it sets hard as nails and cracks to bits. I always use high temp black silicone
