Well its been 1 year since i bought my PH2 172, always planned owning one at some point and i dont regret making my purchase. I've owned a VTR Saxo, Jordan Civic, VTI Civic EK and a Williams 3 all been great cars with their own individual qualities. Anyway onto the 172 .....
January 2011...
Thanks for the help. What sort of price am i looking at to get a new altinator? New? or refurbished? Is this a common fail with these engines/altinator type?
After a month or so of trying to find out where the noise from the engine bay was coming from i got a second opinion from a fellow Clio Sport enthusiast. Reckons its my altinator bearings. Need some advice on how to fix this problem?
Can i just change the bearings?
Is a new altinator needed...
Yes that was me, had been to Ocean Terminal and was heading along Granton about 4:30pm. Car was fairly clean could have been cleaner. Oh and its a Ph2 172 BTW ..... and currently for sale :)

Looking at buying a decat pipe for my ph2 53plate 172. The pipe i've seen has 2 lambda sensor holes, will this be suitable? Does my ph2 have 2 sensors at the cat?
Thanks
Thanks folks for the + comments. Yeah lowered on a set of springs on Sunday, 35mm drop and very happy with arch gap and how it sits. Can still make it over the speed bumps too !
Also the car got its Belts done last week, timing and auxiliary, tensioners etc ..... running sweet.
What size of brakes discs and callipers are you running on this car ? They look pretty small and standard for a Brit car ? You might run into a bit of over heating/brake fade with discs that size over a long race distance.
I can second, third and fourth all those superb mentions about driving and owning a Williams. I was the lucky proud owner of a Williams 3 for 2 years and loved every minute of owning that car. Lost all pics of my Williams when old PC packed in :(. Its the car I wish i could stick in a garage...
Sorry not got any pics of phone holder. Its a holder that plugs into the 12v and the phone sits in it and charges. I have a 3.5mm lead going from my head unit which plugs into top of my I-phone so it plays through stereo and charges at same time. Would like a Parrot kit though
Thanks for...
this is the link to the stuff I just used today, very good value.

Had a day off work today so gave me the chance to get the muck and salt of the car :D Also fitted my carbon wrapped trims that i'd done.
Here's some snaps I took
Picked up my Skoda splitter today too, will fit on Sunday.
Plan to get the car sitting a bit lower on some sports...
I'd have gone straight out and bought something like this. Then would have put all my spare time into testing and getting all the drivers upto speed, getting in a few sport and saloon races in during the season......
