Agree I hate led screens there are very few impressive ones that don't have any issues.... Light bleed, blur etc... As for 3d I would go active glasses you get a better 3d than on passive glasses but there is a huge price difference in glasses... I after buying a led screen and changing it...

however on most tv's if you wire the tv to the router via cat5... plex will only work if you hard wire your mac to the router too, so you can't wifi the computer and have the tv on cat 5... so you will have to buy a wifi dongle for the tv which are like 50-100 quid so u may as well buy apple tv lol

Lol at the wire cost.... There is no point spending £5 a meter on speaker wire unless you are using fully high end stuff.... I would look at the denon 1910 or the onkyo 609 then get the q aucoustics 2000 speaker set or the tannoy hts100 set.... Don't buy in to the super high quality hdmi...

I got min Xmas eve job 4.3 unteathered got plex, xbmc, and a few other bits on it... Got a few resporitarys on xbmc all works fine lol... I got a external hdd that plugs in to my router via USB... Effectively giving me a Nas drive all my media files on the hdd and xbmc and plex see's it all fine...

Or get an av amp, connect it to the tv, get one that has an iPod connection and you are covered in everything u want, connect roof speakers to amp... Sky box to amp, tv to amp, iPad to amp.
