Committing time is the issue for games like this, I only get on my XBox later at night once the wife & kids are in bed, so I have lots of unfinished games LOL.
Although it's very easy to lose track of time and suddenly it's 1am on a school night, oops!
Same, I have a 1TB expansion card and a 5TB external HDD for any non-optimised games that don't need to run off the internal storage or expansion card, although I do have a couple on there for massively improved loading times, like GTA V.
I started a fresh play through after the update, up to level 9 after about 14 hours, zero issues/glitches/crashes so far (Series X).
To be far I'd not played 4 that much previously, compared to a lot of people, but it's much easier restarting when you know your way round...

Depending on what you're playing on, for Xbox it was an update/upgrade to the existing game, on PS5 I know there have been some teething troubles for people with PS+, going off what I've seen on Reddit.
For PC Steam has the update, GOG doesn't yet, not sure on all the other PC services, but...
I started a fresh playthrough of NV last night actually, as I never really gave it a fair crack originally, but it does look/feel dated now.
