...Jaidon who drives the punto and Arran who owns the swift are brothers. Simon who drives the 200 supply meat to the butchers in new Romney where jaidon works
The lad with the punto does work at the butchers mate.
Next time I'm down the track ill speak to the owner and see if I can get some sort of deal arranged for us, providing on numbers on whose up for it!
Lydden is the 6th May! And it would also appear that Lydden are doing club...
I could deffo get a karting thing organised in the summer as I know the owner of the circuit quite well :)
will anyone be attending the BHP show at Lydden seeing some of you are relatively local?
For the punto lovers.
was real last minute thing! But I plan to get something more organised next time so that everyone can get together!
The lydd to rye section is very good, that's the camber road :)
once the weather is better ill post something up and see who's up for it! Never tried...
Trouble with the 197/200 engine is that the cams are pretty high lift as standard and theres not much tolerance to allow for a greater cam....
seems like its reduces the lift in a way to get more bottom end grunt.
They do make a difference...but only down the low end of the range. It could catch me from low to mid, but from mid to high nothing really in it to be totally honest.
I'm deffo going to be lowering mine! As that stance looks bang on!
We just took the A259 right up to the lydd turning as the marsh roads would have been a bit of a B***h with all the rain we had saturday night.
Yeah the 200 is on H&R's and is cammed....but thats all planned to be different when K-tec sort the supercharger kit ;)
So a few of us got talking saturday evening....and the outcome was a morning drive from folkestone, through Hythe, New Romney, through Lydd and along the lovely Camber roads for some nice corners and then finally down into Rye for some pics and drinks!
Bit of a random selection of cars...2...
The cooper S is a massive no go in my opinion as i work with a guy who is massively into his,but he spends more money and gets less smiles! He's fitted a 19% less supercharger pulley on his..It's only a fraction quicker in a straight line than my 197, until we get to the corners and the clio...
Bit of a last minute thing, a couple of us from the 197.net forum are going for a blast and pics tomorrow morning, going from Folkestone, if anyone's interested in joining us?
My dad has one of these, but has the DSG box....which is loads of fun! He's also had it de-catted, miltek system and k&n induction, then it was off to AMD for a remap, runs about 285bhp now.
But I'm 21, he's 55 and the golf feels too grown up for my liking! Although I can't fault the Gti, I...
And I've seen a fair drop on my mpg since the cold weather, by around 2mpg. But I managed 29.8 over 10,000 miles....not bad at all considering that includes some full on fun ;)
After looking at this...I'd say both need to grow up. Why bother trying to get one over each other?
You might have all the bhp in the world..... But if you can't drive your greasy stick up some dogs arse, don't bother :)
I'm glad it wasn't just me cursing my car this morning! Was 6am, de-iced the car...jumped in to reverse up my drive as its on a slope...more revs, more noise and less movement. Still...I think all of my neighbours enjoyed their wake up call from my straight through system!
Just drove it and it...
Went for a short drive out to dungeness on Sunday after spraying my wheels and fitting my new plate! Went with a friend in his punto!
power-station....full of nuclear bad ass stuff!
There was a real tidy 172 parked outside Folkestone McDonalds Saturday morning, was blue with a wrapped black/ carbon roof and orange stickers...who was it?
Hello Chris
Nice 197 you've got yourself there! I'm not too many miles away from you!
I work for SC motorfactors and im pretty sure that we supply your kwikfit branch ;)
Over 10,000 miles my 197 averaged 29.8mpg.....The clock has been reset and with 500 miles already, im sitting at 33.2mpg...It was at 34.3 until i went for a blast last night!
