Well spotted. After I took the photos I had to play about the plastic spacers to get them to fit straight, not sure why.

Retrimmed by Edge Automotive interiors. Not cheap but they are in Nappa leather and with new base foams. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have bothered as I've only sat in them half a dozen times in the last 10 months! Now going hill climbing with the car so I don't need them. Before anyones...

I used Integra Recaros (retrimmed). Not any lower than Trendlines, but the extra support they offer makes a massive difference. I think the aftermarket Recaro subframes are slightly lower than the Trophy OE frames. They must be as the original slider handle won't work with them, you have to use...

The clips on the top of the bolts break. Easier to take the bolt out from the brackets after dropping the fuel tank down a bit.

On mine it was corrosion on the number plate light causing all the problems. Strange how electrics work.

Exactly the same with me. I've used pattern balljoints and more recently new Renault lower arm and balljoint (increased castor ones). I'm not sure, but I think it can only be my new OE dampers. I'm changing them soon for B14's and I'll see what difference it makes.

This thread has been very interesting. I changed my front dampers for new ones a couple of years ago. The car never felt the same after it - very floaty. With nothing else changed I lost a degree of castor. That's with the same top mounts, springs, lower arms etc. I have never worked out why and...

Those 306's were BTCC Production class - not quite the same as the full on BTCC cars.

Just a few pics from last night Ace Cafe night. Great turnout and it was nice to talk to so many enthusiastic people.

I went for Recaro SRD's out of a Honda Integra (similar to Recaro Speed). Trimmed in leather and alcantara.

On a similar note, I was at the 1987 British Grand Prix at 16 supporting 'our Nige'. I was one of these idiots running onto the track at Abbey... Yes I'm old, but like Tony, my insurance is £220 for the 172!

172 Cup dampers will fit fine.
