I managed to catch the rear quarter on a Fiesta ST I had. Cost me £380 to put right!!
Regards the vibration through the steering wheel, as you say most probably the wheels need balancing.
Really nice car mate, can't beat a nice clean Monaco. Shame about the scuff on the bumper, bet you were gutted (been there myself :dapprove:).
The RSTuner makes such a difference doesn't it? I did mine earlier in the week and can't believe how smoothly it runs now.
Just about to load on the RSTuner map this morning, wasn't expecting much of an improvement, but thought it's worth a try.
I'm thinking it's just a normal lumpy 182 idle and this particular exhaust just emphasises it.
Sorry for the bump...!
@MDP91, did you ever get to the bottom of this?
I am having exactly the same problem as you and I notice we both have the same exhaust..
Most likely the dogbone mount, in which case most people opt for the Powerflex one. They cost about £40 - £45 from memory.
I have one here to be fitted as mine is similar to yours. It's really common.
I have spoken to other people with the same exhaust and they don't seem to have the same problem, so i'm not convinced that it's the cause. As I said, mine is actually fine initially, then after a minute or two the noise starts.
Really would love to get to the bottom of this!!
OK so just done another video. Hopefully this ones a bit more useful..
This is after the car has been running for about 5 minutes or so. It's actually fine when you first start it up (no popping from the exhaust), then after 1-2 minutes you hear the revs drop and it starts to pop.
Thanks for all the replies/help...
We monitored the behavior of all sensors through live data on the diag. Everything appears to be working exactly as it should. We also swapped over sensors from another 182 known to be running well and this made no difference at all.
We didn't swap...
Thanks for the suggestion mate. I've just been and cleaned the throttle body and sadly the problem is still there. Though it does seem to idle a bit better and it's another thing to tick off the list and rule out.
This tbh.
But also the RSTuner is handy to have as a diagnostics tool. In the last 6 months i've probably spent £100 on diagnostic checks @ £30 a time, so it will more than pay for itself i'm sure.
Ok so looking to get an RSTuner, but car currenty has a K-tec map on it, I hear K-tec lock the maps on making them difficult to change. Is there any truth in this?
Thanks for the reply Dan.
Will get another video up when the weather calm's down a bit, appreciate it's not the best.
I'll have to keep an eye on the oil level. It's definitely not using it excessively anyway.
Fuel consumption seems normal, around 30-32mpg on the trip computer. That's with...
Had a quick look round it the other day mate, looks tidy. Shame about the problems you've had with it.
Is on standard suspension? Seems lower than standard...
