I'm sure plenty that have been done are fine, but at the same time I'd bet there's just as many that aren't. To put your mind at ease, it might be worth getting the timing checked. I'm not sure on costs, but I don't think it's a massive job so it shouldn't be too expensive.

What's up with the Ktec filter? That's what mine has (previous owner fitted), but always thought they were ok.

For peace of mind I'd just get them changed by a specialist on here.

Favourite: Probably a wipe down with a detailing spray, something like Z8. You get to admire the finish and it adds a little something too. Worst: Just about everything else at the minute. Really can't get motivated to even clean my car recently (hence its current state).

I rinse mine, hang to dry and then store in a resealable plastic bag. I think I've had mine 12-18 months and it's pretty much in perfect condition.

Yes looked at the KTR ones (they are just Vibra Technic ones with Ktec branding as far as I'm aware), but as I said, they probably aren't best suited to every day road-use.

It's something I've considered, but I don't want the added vibrations that come with upgrading them. As far as I'm aware, the mounts on it at the moment are the original ones and the car is now on 92k. Even replacing them with new OEM ones should give a worthwhile improvement IMO.

Just bought a PowerFlex dog bone mount and I'm looking to replace the top Gearbox and Engine mounts whilst I'm at it. I've noticed that you can buy non-genuine mounts from GSF, which work out at around £70 for both. Does anybody have any experience with these? The genuine ones are around £130...

Are there any noticeable gains to be had with the Ktec Induction setup then? I've always fancied one just for the noise tbh.

Literally had the same problem with mine last week and all the same symptoms. Fortunately, a nice cheap fix. Power figures are impressive too.
