Nice :p thanks people! Not much going on ATM. Just been cleaning it up, especially the engine bay! Getting a new engine mount fitted tomorrow, but on the whole just trying to keep her clean and tidy! :)
Ahh gutted! That would've been perfect if I didn't live about 300 miles from there :( can't think of many places around here that'll supply me one. Dammit
I have alot of driving to do before I can buy new mounts, so I don't have the Option to 'not use it' - which is why I'm looking for a temporary fix.. If possible.
Is there a cheap way to repair engine mounts without having to buy new ones? Very short on cash ATM and my drivers side engine mount is dead. It would only need to be a temporary fix until I get paid again or something, just don't like driving it with it knocking!
Thanks in advance for help...
When I turn my power steering pump is quite loud and a Mate of mine said it needs replacing. Are these expensive to replace? How can I be so sure he's right as everything feels fine? And is there a way I can check it needs doing?
Thanks
yep me you and michaelgrimes atleast could meet there for a start? along with anybody else who would like to convoy from there! gives 2 options then for people to meet for a convoy. I believe we were hoping to get to brighton for 7:30 AM? (O.O) , correct me somebody if im wrong ---- so what time...
I'm in guildford and will not be able to join the initial convoy at Sevenoaks or wherever they're all meeting :p I would prefer to drive down there with somebody but no worries if I can't! If there's somewhere you can all stop along the way to meet me before entering the main event I'd much...
Ouch.... my bonnet catch has been done but when im driving on the motorway at 70+ i always get the thought of it happening to me. Unlucky man :/ Hope you get it sorted okay!
EDIT* And yeah, welcome to CS :p
If you happened to buy this months edition of Retro ford magazine, a bloke i know who ive met a few times, his car is in it. Its a ford capri running the engine out of a nissan 200 S14 which he fully restored pretty much himself. Amazing car! might be some inspiration :)
Have fun!
Yeah man sounds good :) and nice, wish mine came with coilovers lol but it's 100% standard. Have plenty of plans for it, nothing massive though. I think I'm going down the cooksport springs route or the best equivalent. I got terribly bored of coilovers on my old car, hate adjusting them! Hoping...
Thanks mate! Yeah I loved my 1.2 aswell :p kind of went a bit mad on it and it worked out well! and cheers! If you want to keep an eye on any thread, my new one called 'iOllieSM's new car' will be the better one to watch :)
I actually may well have a set lined up. My mate has a set of perfect condition recaro bucket seats he's taking out of his astra van conversion he did. When they come out, if I want them, they're mine for a good price :) so yes may well happen in the future too!
Thanks for the info :) I will keep an eye out in the for sale section for one. Can I buy either the old or new RStuner then? Only really interested in the RON98 map, as I run the car on it already anyway! Don't want any others really
Fair enough, yeah there's always something! And main things will be a set of cooksport springs or an equivalent which is highly rated, 15mm spacers front and rear, RON98 remap, smaller arial, going to tart up the engine bay a bit :p that's all I have in mind really lol. Maybe in the future a set...
How much does this cost in total to do? I want to put this map on my car and noticed a specialist not far from me who does it for £160 ish all in. Is it actually cheaper to buy it and do it myself or just take it there?
The old one improved after you saw it :p I got some coilovers and sorted out everything on it. But that's old news now, this beats it in every angle! Couldn't be happier tbh. :)
Thanks Tyler.
And about a week and a half ago :) i have a project thread type thing here

Progress wont be fast for the meantime, just enjoying it how it is :) very happy with it!
Thanks mate :P yours is a lovely motor too! i actually saw yours on ebay and thought, wow.... id love to own that, then next thing its yours! You doing much to that or keeping as is?
Shame you're so far away from me man, could've gotten some pictures of the new cars together ;p
Yours looks very smart, nice that its already been slightly lowered! im looking into a set of cooksport springs for mine atm. Are you going to space the wheels out at all? Also are you going to CSS? :)
