Power steering.

When I turn my power steering pump is quite loud and a Mate of mine said it needs replacing. Are these expensive to replace? How can I be so sure he's right as everything feels fine? And is there a way I can check it needs doing?

check the fluid level if its low can make it more noisy on full lock same if the aux isnt tensioned correctly. easy to replace the pump could pick up a 2nd hand bump for about £30.
