For under £350 I did both tie rods, new steering column, new steering rack, full EPAS conversion, new outer track rods, powerflex bushes all round and 4 wheel hunter laser alignment.
As for the camber argument - it depends what you use. The camber bolts only do about -3.75 even on a cup...
Feck paying £250 for brackets. The whole setup is only £600
Just phone Jamsport and K-Tec - see if they'll sell seperately as they both sell willwood kits for the Clio
I wish my mpg thing still worked lol. Stupid omex
But to be fair I winged about my MPG thinking it was bad - but then on way to ClioSport Saturday and back I worked it out and got 46mpg. I think it just seems bad coming from a diesel
RaceRender is epic. I'm building a little arduino box with accelerometer and gps built in, which will sit under my sony action camera and record data which I can then feed into RaceRender
Aye what chip said. The colour of my plugs is nearly always a very light brown but it only tells you the state of the fuel mix at the point you turned the engine off - and even then no very accurately.
I'd get a second bung welded into the exhaust and a wideband with a display in the car -...
What a load of s**t
I ordered mine for under £30 from GSF, they came next day and it took me under an hour to swap them even without the special tool.
They didn't check the new parts were right before butchering your car - and now they're saying they have to re-evaluate the labour because of...
Oh wait is that running my map? LOL
Yeah it was rolling road tuned for the maximum power from my engine - so their wont be much tolerance in it for differing engines.
It only runs lambda control at under 2.5k ish - anything above that and it's on the map.
I absolutely loved it - I can see why they call it the mini-ring, it's got lots of up and downs and corners you can link together.
There is an epic potential for f**k-up there though, there's no run off at all. I just smashed a wing mirror off on my first day but it could easily have been the...
I FULLY agree. It's why if I ever got into a race series it would be something with certain rules on the engine. A blue printed engine that you can swap to bodies - no boost is manageable. If you're not careful you end up in a series where the guy with the biggest pocket wins rather than the guy...
Re: sonny172cup "track racer project"
Sooo glad someone else has said that - every time there's an argument on here about whether 4 pots are worth it I cry a bit.
Mine use alloy bells and rotors so weigh even less and have 295mm discs. I think I saved over 8kg by swapping the brakes over -...
I think as Sandy has said the only relevance to the home builds that fail in hours is to show that the £10-15k price tag is for a reason.
A lot of people look at these engines (both in 106's and clios) and assume they can build one themselves for less money - but in the long run if your home...
Selling my old 80gb iPod
Used to have this in my car linked to my headunit but use my iPhone now over bluetooth so thought I'd sell it
It's awesome if your headunit has iPod control as it has a huge 80gb and you can put your entire iTunes library on it. Can also watch videos from it if you have...
I'm gonna play this one by ear guys
It's a very early start for me from Lincoln and it's forecast rain. I'm also heading down to Donington next weekend for the French Series race - so if I get up Sunday morning and it's cold and slinging it down I might skip it and save some pennies for next...
You can re-use your own inner tie-rods if there's no play
The FTR rods are for cups as they're longer.
TBH though with it all apart I'd spend the extra £30 and fit brand new ones. Mine didn't seem to have any play in they were just a bit loose - but fitting new ones made the car feel like...
Solid figures and tbh the pricing I think will be affordable for some people.
I'll be interested to see if one of these make it into the tintop/french series cars as it would be pretty much unbeatable!
Not entirely true - it's a lot more common than people think. My girlfriend has been paramedic at 5 bike track days - 3 of them required air ambulance and one of those guys was in a coma for 2 months and all the doctors thought he wouldn't pull through.
Bikes are dangerous and unfortunately...
