Seems an odd one.
Battery would have been my guess based on turning, followed by clicking because it cant hold the solenoid in, but then jump starting it would aleviate the symptoms.
Earth is the next guess because that would cause a low power at the motor in either case but you've tried that...
Aye, so daily for occasional track use, which is a different beat entirely!
Worth watching the R90 approval issue on track pads if youre using it on the road too.
If you're having problems starting then worth figuring out why. Is it turnong over slowly, or clicking or nothing? Do the lights...
Yep:
Dont buy any more Toyo Proxes, they're awful things.
Stop spending money on things that will make no difference (throttle body)
Spend money on things that will (braided hoses, fluid and pads)
Find a new 'specialist' brake place who actually know what they are talking about.
Why would it...
I know what people mean about the pictures and perhaps it's different when you're trying to sell something like this, but the pictures are fantastic compared to the average car advert, either private or dealer IMHO.
CL RC5+ fronts, Ferodo DS2500 rears, OE rear disks, Brembo HC fronts, ATE fluid and goodridge hoses.
I'm going to swap out the fluid and see if that imporves things, but otherwise I'm looking at new front pads as mine are down to ~3mm.
True enough I guess, so the issue is still boiling at the calipers, but it's more likely because the fluid is already warm. I wonder how much movement of fluid there really is, it's a pretty low displacement system and when you bleed old cars you invariably get some dark manky fluid from the...
I really cant see how you can boil fluid with a wet boiling point of 200 degrees when it's housed inside a plastic reservoir TBH.
Lines in the engine bay passing a manifold perhaps, master cylinder itself maybe, but not the reservoir.
I also cant see why moving the reservoir would help at all...
So its been a generally reliable car which has performed as expected, barring some TLC which could all have been done in a week after you bought it?
FLOL at the highest spec car in the range not having cruise though.
If you were planning to keep it long term, then fair enough lay it up, but as its a track car and you've already decided to move on, get shot of it. I've done it both ways and in 2 years time youll be powerwashing moss off it and trying to get it started and hating spending £300 on servicing and...
Cheers @Waitey
Must be something odd with 545s, perhaps small build numbers mean the accident stats get screwed up?
Just seems very odd for a safety barge to be that expensive and wind up with that large a compulsory excess!
I'm trying to find a company who will offer a competitive quote on the following:
30 yr old male, 5 years NCB, one SP30 18 months ago
25k miles per year, inc business use of 5k
Currently looking at an E60 545
Best quote so far is Direct line who were coming in at 650 with a 350 excess, which is...
Tbh the distraction from late night use of bright screens, flashing notification lights and any noise messing with your sleep patterns is a far bigger issue than the signal imho
Oh definitely, and I have no issue with that at all, it's everyone's personal choice, I'm just saying I don't think I'd ever be able to justify £1200 a month to still die of boredom sat on the motorway. No matter what you drive it's still dull, so unless the car is self driving or comes with a...
What stress? Pretty much anything german does that, unless you're implying that a 335D is taxing to drive on a motorway? At the end of the day a rangerover is a nice novelty because it's like doing 70 down the outside lane in your livingroom. Even if you do want one, why new, for 30k a year...
I know loads of people like that and I just dont get it, they feel huge and disconnected to drive. Comfy, but extremely dull.
True, I only suggested a 3 series as he had one before, insert any decent saloon car tbh.
3 year old 330D and a Noble/911/Clio V6/whatever.
I do as many miles as you do and even if I had baller sums of cash, I'd still rather have more toys than a brand new 50k commuter :P
