So having got the bits I gave this a go tonight but it won't sit comfortably as the column is too long once it's been dropped down. There doesn't appear to be a free sliding section on the column and only one in is bolted, hopefully slackening that will give me enough room. Did you guys...
Mines the same I've just discovered. Is this a common failure like exhaust hangers, or just age related? It's a track car so unsure whether to go for a new mount and powerflex insert, or skip straight to vibratechnics if its going to be a recurring problem?
@loggyboy do you know if it's retained by bolts from inside the cavity beneath the engine mount? I was looking last night and couldnt see how to remove it!
Well for a start because the BAM engine is a 4 cylinder engine fitted to transverse cars, so therefore it will just drop in for want of mounts and shafts. Apart from 5 rings on the engine cover they literally have nothing in common.
Heres a transverse 4wd audi box, so a front wheel drive...
I've got one and tbh unless your disks are new and you're on old school 5 spokes, it doesnt work. I stuck mine to a length of steel bar which sits accross the wheel rim edges, and checked the wheel rims for run out with a dial gauge, but tbh, you're as well with a spirit level and a measuring tape.
Tyres is a MASSIVE variable, I know up here they get through them on the minis and the front runners are using new ones for qualifying and stuff (I buy their used ones sometimes) so they do get through them, and faster than you'd expect.
So buy a broken laguna? or if it takes your fancy, ANY other transverse mounted V6 would probably be possible
Too in-completely-the-wrong-place mainly, but yes, even if you put it in the right orientation and position it's probably too big.
Converting to RWD is fine, converting to RWD with the...
The fact there there are no transverse gearbox options for the Audi engine at all, and it wouldnt fit accross the rear of the car even if there were, means you would have to go for a longitudinal layout, at which point the front two cylinders would be space sharing with your chest.
Why would...
most things arent adjustable and wouldnt cause issues anyway, as long as your tracking and camber is within spec it wont cause what you describe.
Lowering wont cause it either if done properly and aligned afterwards.
If the steering is that 'loose' then its got to be a joint or bush or topmount...

@daveski @Tony Hunter @Jay Payne Can any of you gents or anyone else advise roughly what length of bolts I'll need and what size? From memory they're M8 and the flanges arent...
Insurance is, in general an absolute farce. Now and again you find a decent broker, but the industry as a whole is b****cks.
You earn 5 years NCB on my car, but I cant apply this discount (which is based on my driving record) to another vehicle. If I sell the car and buy a bike, it doesnt apply...
IMHO eagle assymetrics are hard to beat as a solid allrounder for decent money. I've tried most things and refuse to move from them when theyre available in the correct sizes.
Why bother? The weight saving is miniscule unless you've done EVERYTHING else, they get scratched in no time, make using carparks/drivethroughs etc a complete pain, leak, are noisy, unless you have aircon you'll soon miss being able to wind them down (which is why most race cars have them...
Old post bump but it seems the most suitable place.
I have a 2002 Ph2 172 which doesnt have cruise. I assume from your post above I can fit those two components and then it will "just work"?
Is the plug for the cruise buttons behind that dash panel?
What about the plug for the steering wheel...
Unless turbocharged, or you have the mechanical sympathy of a chimp, no clio should be losing traction in a straight line in third.
I'd be getting the geometry checked out and making sure none of the front suspension has play in it as this will make any tyre feel awful.
After that, ANY decent...
This suggests its a single wire from the ABS module
