Although, my mates have been and said 2 days would be a bit over kill? anyone going on the friday that would be coming back on the sunday?
Next decision is which car should i take... ph1 or 182?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there anything you can do to lower the seat height whilst keeping the standard Renault sport seats? I think most will agree the seat height is just a tad too high even when put on its lowest setting
Cheers
Ross
Just sold my car and now looking to buy a new one. Ive still got a ph1 172 that my mum now uses and still love driving that on the odd occasion, but know with a little extra power how much fun it could be....
I think the only thing to do now would be to go out in one and experience it first...
Re: Supercharged Sunflower
Lovely car mate, and looking forward to the finished results!
Quick question though, does anyone know the difference in fuel economy on these when forged and running 300+ compared to standard internals around 250-260? Ive heard you struggle to get 10mpg? or is that...
Without getting a ruler out it's hard to say... Ill be keeping my 15's so would like them to be sitting a little closer to the arch without It looking chavy or silly. In terms of comfort or feel I'd like to minimise body roll and don't mind a bumpy ride at all... So I'd say I'm looking at...
Not all that bothered about spending much more than £500 really. So if anyone has any advice on either of the two types of coilover that would be great. Also if the top mounts are worth buying and what to expect once fitted?
As the title says, ive got £500 to spend on some coilovers and k-tec top mounts, looking at K-tec's or Vmaxx.... what would you recommend? Very unlikely the car will not be tracked just fast road set up really.
Anyone have experience and advice on them?
Yeah I had this problem twice in my 172.... Replaced all 4 leads to make sure and so far (touch wood) it's been the only problem ive had in 3 and a half years of ownership!
Cheers for the replies guys.... As i thought it must be a one off, where ever i read that its a straight swap must have been pulled out of the air.
And i have to agree with Toms_clio, it would be a bit odd, probs best just buying a megane all along, but a boosted, reliable 197 would be alot of...
Yeh go and drive a car with the Honda K20 engine, ep3 type r, or a DC5 Integra which has the K20a extra 20bhp and an LSD, promise you wont be dissapointed.
If you want some info on them, or want to see how they go, the Best Motoring video's on youtube are good...
Woooh, chill out! was only asking for some information, not your dinner money pal!
Ok well done, all that says is whether the conversion is possible.
It doesnt mention
- costs
- whether its a straight swap
- theres nothing there that says what a customers opinion is of the conversion
- i...
Id say test drive it... Then make a decision on what you prefer. Can you justify spending the extra money on the car for what it gives you in return. Its your own personal opinion that counts when buying a car for yourself.
As above, has anyone done this conversion?
I saw a post mention its possible to drop a 225 engine straight into a 197 as its a direct fit, in a thread about SC'ing clio's. Someone mentioned SC'ing a 197, and was told not to bother, instead just put the 225 engine straight in.
Just interested...
Love seeing threads like this..... Good on ya mso for a trouble free conversion thus far!
Have you by any chance had a play with any SC Civic Type R's? or anyone else with a turbo or sc conversion on their clio? The Jackson Racing Supercharger kit is very popular on the Civic by the looks of...
The faster you go the more it should feel like the tracking is out and the steering will shake violently, if thats what your getting then its your drive shaft. Some propshaft specialists will do a refurb on yours if you want to save money, but you will have to wait for that and not have your car...
Yeh its quite annoying as ive been and bought a new steering wheel to replace it.
Has anyone else done this and managed to convert the airbag problem? or have people who have got ph2 steering wheels in their ph1 not got the airbag active?
