I quite like F1 on my PS3.....very realistic, with good training aids.
Tracks are very realistic etc - and it was quite hard to get hold of, had to buy it online.
you need a slghtly less distracting background-image 4 is your best.
put more distance between the perch and the reeds.

2x 8gb cards in each camera ( 1 for NEF and 1 for jpegs)
1 body with 24-70mm
1 body with 70 -200mm
14-24 mm in belt pouch

apart from using some flashguns or a better camera indoors is always going to be hard, especially with moving action etc.
Have you thought about panning the subjects rather than trying to freeze movement???

my time has finally come to deploy to Afghan with camera in tow!
flying in 2 weeks - just been given my D3 kit yesterday, 2 x bodies and lenses.

its not wide angles....it is when you exceed 10 focal lengths/ over the size of your given format or greater!!!....hence why the image at the top doesn't look "technically correct" does it??? as it was taken with a 50mm lens.
I still look at that top image and can't help think - it could of been achieved in camera?
There is no increase in Depth of Field, looking at the principles of Hyperfocal distance - you have actually ended up LOSING Depth of Field.

It almost has a "tilt shift" approach to it though.

*Polariser for elimination of specular reflections i.e water.
*For sunset images, try spot metering to the side of the sun as it sets.
*Shootong into the sun you need to under expose by several stops, if you still require foreground detail close up then you will need to fill in with flash...
