Thanks for the info fellas.
The stickers were £59 pound something from Renault Preston, they seem to all come seperate, what I mean is the Williams is on a different backing piece than the number 3, not sure how much individually but they were just shy of £60 for 2x Williams 2x Threes
Could somebody do me a massive favour and measure ...
1. The distance from the rear arch to the start of the sticker
2. The distance between the end of the Williams and the start of the number 3
3. The distance from the bump strip to the bottom of the sticker
Or even a good quality pic...
yeah saw your car fella, looked spotless so did javascript openWin pop_up_profile.asp?profile=6150 , profile , toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubar=0,scrollbars=0,resizable=1,width=440,height=370 "> paul1178s motor. Problem is not the whole car is being done, just back panels and 1 door.
I...
Does anyone know what the procedure is with respray and waxing?
Getting my car back from body shop tomorrow had the arches and drivers door resprayed, and was gonna give the rest of it a good wax and polish.
Thinking about the 3 stage Meguairs stuff, is this gonna be too harsh on the newly...
Just got back from Renault Preston, What an episode.
Bloke come from the back with the stickers says here you go £7.50 each, I go thanks, but what about the rest of the the sticker, he only had the Number 3 and it looked like someone had already cut out the williams bit. He then disappears in...
Just spoke to them and they are definatly £7.50 Part No is 7701385855 he said they have come down in price as they were £17, I ordered myself a new gear knob also for £16 I think he said
Nope just spoke to Renault Preston, Keiron I think his name was, he was as surprised as I was at £7.50 he said automatically anything with Williams attatched is big bucks, he said he was definatly sure, and I pick mine up on Thurs.
I thought I would buy the real deal stickers as the car is...
Yeah I had the cable go on my old valver and only a new clutch would sort this out....I really hope this isnt the case...does it defiantly mean it on its way out or might I be lucky?
Just been to motorfactors and neither of them have the cable, so a kind lady at Renault Preston is going to deliver me one to work tomorrow for £18, bargain I reckon.
How come Matt? Would a Renault one last me longer?
The reason Im asking is I have two motor factors very very close to my work, and could get a cable in my lunch from them no problem, Renault on the other hand is a bit further away and probabbly a weekend job, but if its worth it Ill go.
Hmm I reckon this is gonna be a pain in the arse...a mate of mine brother managed to change the cable on my old valver, didnt need to jack it up though..although it did take a while to do
I reckon it will be worth a go first, then if I fail miserably time to take it to the garage.
I was feeling really good this weekend after managing to change the pads on my Willie with minimal fuss, and then I go out not 30 mins ago and manage to snap my clutch cable.
Does anyone know is this is a relatively easy task to do myself, with tools and a Haynes manual?
What sort of money...
What Im thinking of doing is getting cat sorted on Mon and just getting a decat, from somehwere else, and having a go fitting it myself, I believe its no too hard and I have access to a ramp.
At least when MOT comes I have a Cat to pas MOT.
I think that will be my plan.
Just got back from Top Gear, it appears my Cat if funked. They didnt seem to keen on doing a de-cat, they said they would but wouldnt recommend it, so it would be £170 for a cat fitted.
On the bright side though they said my exhaust is fully stainless, so I am just in need of a cat.
Does...
Hmmm.....I might be getting tempted, if only for the saving of 170sheets, just have to save up to get a cat in time for next MOT.
Will let you know afer a visit to Top Gear ;)
Sounds good, but what do the old bill think of de-cats? Presumably it will increase exhaust noise and make them more likely to stop me. Are they illegal or is it just to do with emissions on tne MOT.
When I first got the car I was giving it hell for leather everywhere, country roads at night sounded like it was a real beast of a car, but as I say it has kind of tailed off, just thought it was my imagination.
Not sure if I wanna go with a de-cat does it really make that much difference? I...
Just spoke to Top Gear again, and described the deep rumbling sound coming from the box near the front of the car, he said it could possibly be the cat? Gonna be £170 just for the cat.
Would a whole new system come with a cat do you think?
Two things I have noticed from the car since I...
