But for the sake of £130 I would get the dephaser done. No point spending £450 getting all the belts changed then 4 months down the line your car sounds like a tractor and you have to rip it all off again... One thing on a car you never want to skimp out on...
Garages like SJM and BTM charge £600 for a reason, if they could do the job properly for £250 then they would probably do it for that. Parts like Cambelt/aux kit, seals and dephaser come to about £300 as it is. So yeah I would wait or ask somebody nicely for the money...
Got put off soon as I read in the header he put "Cupra, Fr, ST" etc I hate people who do that means you looking for a car and about 20 other different sorts come up.
Just a quick one really
I have interior light plug and climate control sensor plug,
What is this for....
It's neatly held out the way with a little clip...
Re: Cambelt Con/Rip off tactics.
I think that was in the service manual. Smother cambelt with oil for extra lubrication, means its spins smoother giving you extra BHP. How do you not know this!!!
The idea is you are suppose to put an Allen key in the top to stop the strut from spinning whilst you undo the top mount with a offset ring spanner, that's the theory but reality is just put an impact gun on it and give it death.
Make sure the threads are clean, had a problem once the top mount...
