No, even with drm you had to sell it back to a retailer who then sold it on to the next person, it's just as part of that sale the publisher got a cut, something they don't get at the moment.
Think about how many games a company like Walmart in the us will sell for the publishers, and amazon etc.
I had to lol tonight reading that Xbox live and Xbox.com have been down tonight, if only everything relied on the cloud, oh wait.......
possibly an attack on them after yesterday's shenanigans?
The digital books costing more than physical ones is because of VAT I think, there's vat on digital downloads, not on paper ones.
digital download games won't ever be less than rrp as they don't want to piss off the retail stores who sell most of the products for them.
Maybe if they had incentivised people by making the downloadable versions of games cheaper and enabled the drm features on those copies, but kept the traditional way with disc purchases, to please everyone and not just force everyone down a new unknown route, especially when there were so many...
Flol, just saw this on Facebook and thought someone was taking the piss, for a company as big as MS to walk away with their tail between their legs is awesome people power, they normally try to enforce it anyway and then change things further down the line.
i guess they must have cried at the...
I can see what he's saying about the price, it ahold be cheaper for digital downloads as they cost less, there's no product to manufacture, package, handle, ship etc.
Plus they will make more money from them.
When dealing with physical media there is a distributor and retailer who all want...
Not entirely true, unless you have a source? It doesn't include absolutely everything the disc included but a lot of it, I've read it just won't include all cars.
I have more of a vested interest in Microsoft than Sony, but I also know how Microsoft f**k people over everyday with their licensing agreements and how people think they are doing the right thing when actually they aren't.
Ms are very clever, their business is built around this type of thing...
Im not entirely sure ms means it to be taken as that's which is why they aren't banging on about it, it's really mean for the same household I think, if it was as above then they would sell less games as you'd just get a group of friends who would buy the minimum copies between them to all play...
Electro-shock therapy - Tough Mudder, was really difficult to shoot through the wires dangling (and between the heads of a load of people in front of me), this is my brother on the final obstacle as he's just lost his trainer in the mud. He was definitely on a journey!
Entry
I've not finished it, finished number 2, but never got around to doing 3.
will probably pick it back up again after last of us, but it does use cut scenes everywhere, i think they also use them to mask loading in the background too.
thanks Roy, heres an example with Uncharted 3, already taking a bluray disc to the max!

aren't games 720p at the moment though, give it a year and games will be ramping up in size with 1080p video etc.
the reason theya re small at the moment is because the xbox was holding them back mainly as it only had DVD, now we have a faster bluray games will balloon.
this is the point i am making, the potential of the pc is nothing if the developers arent taking advantage of it.
As has been said though, it all benefits us no matter which side of the fence we are on.
£350 for a ps4 with 10 years gaming life and the impressive array of games coming out seems...
i understand that, i dable in IT, but whats the point of a pc being twice as good as a console if the games are just as good or arguably better on a console anyway.
Its all well and good having a bugatti Veyron that will do 250mph, have any of the owners been anywhere near that figure?
With...
i bought my brother this for christmas, its immense, but granted a little expensive, should have a decent resale value once he's finished with it though.

I went on game yesterday and added a ps4 to my basket, was about to order it and added an Xbox one, then thought, there's no rush, it's months and months away, I think I'll wait for more information to be clarified about both and wait until we see some reviews of the games running on the actual...
Sure, but most of it isn't rumour, it's mostly fact now, although there are people mis-interpreting things I guess.
fair enough.
i still think for a system requiring you to install games and with it not being a 'cheap' box they'd have given it a decent storage capacity when we are talking...
At least Sony have given people the choice to upgrade the hard drive if they wish and also don't require every game to be installed in the first place that I have read.
you really are a spokesman for ms aren't you!
I'd say game are the more reliable when it comes to this sort of thing. Although if you want it guaranteed on launch day I'd say the best thing is to pre-order it instore for collection at the midnight launch there will be.
What about the next gen games we've seen this week makes they less than 50% as good as any pc game currently on the market?
what a load of rubbish, the ps4 is designed to play games, and with its spec it will do it very well and have amazing graphics. Sony have already said that the ps4 is...
I'd think twice about buying a bundle with drive club included as its available free to playstation plus subscribers (which we will all be now because its required for online gaming) at launch, with all the features it's been confirmed by Sony.
There's not been a single mention of discs, just that when you go to a mates house your entire (that's the important bit) game collection will be available to play once you log in. It also talks about copies of the game being in the cloud.
dont forget that all games will be available to...
