Pug 205 Gti not a hot hatch then?
VW Golf Mk1 GTi?
Pug 106 gti?
It depends what you define as a hot hatch really, power is absolutely irrelevant.
I don't think safety has anything to do with it, a hot hatch to me should be small and light, cheap to run, and provide the maximum fun/ £.
All...
I agree with Clarkson to some extent, im not saying the 197 is a bad car though.
I just think its trying to hard to be something it isn't. In my eyes its not a hot hatch. Its too mature, its too heavy and its got too much equipment. Im not going to say its too slow as speed has got nothing to do...
Glad you've found the problem buddy is the TDC sensor from the old or new engine? Sounds like its been knocked or something, I don't think I will let that mechanic even change my wiper blades!
99% of people wouldn't bother checking/ know what they are looking for when you come to sell it. ClioSport represents a very small proportion of RS Clio owners in the large scheme of things.
Perhaps the dealer had climbed into the boot to find the sparewheel after insisting it had one. Sensible trophy driver shut the boot on him and decided to give some pay back. That or giving the mother in law a lift home.
Same seller perhaps as this previous post?! The little Clio didn't stand up to well to the photoshoot I guess.

Aye not bad for a group 13 car though and the minimal extra performance a 1*2 provides certainly isn't worth the additional £6-700/ year at that age on the insurance :rasp:
Since when was 7.9 0-60 slow? Its by no means rapid but I don't think thats bad for insurance group 13.
I like them, but as said remove the viper stripes and it will be spot on, the door stripes are a nice touch though.
I have only ever used Megs Quick clay and once I'd got the hang of it it wasn't to bad, helped putting it in warm water for an hour before. I bloody hate claying though!
The stealth system is much preferred on here rather than the wheel barrow handles on the 182. Mainly because they steam up the rear window and they look a bit boy racer and you tend to get chavs in 1.0 Corsa's try it on at the lights.
I can't remember the exact figure your allowed, tints really aren't my scene, what i was saying was if your tints have to let 30% of light through (for example) by law, I wouldn't put 70% tints on as the windows already have a light tint from the factory.
Its worth remembering that all cars have a slight tint from the factory (they are greeny in the Clio) therefore they do not let 100% worth of light through in the first place, worth bearing in mind when selecting a percentage.
Does seem abit slack, hopefully there is nothing more serious he has missed out as all of those things mentioned are easily rectifiable issues.
Reference the old block you could make a quick buck breaking it for bits now. Alternatively you could sell it broken, again for a good price. Or...
As much as I would love to jump on the bandwagon and post a silly responce this forum over recent times has shown a distinct unwelcomeness to new new members.
Hayley, the 172 vs 182 debate is a massive can of worms, either do a search above or pay a fiver and become a Cliosport club member (you...
Didn't realise you had so many issues! Who recommended you this guy again. Enough said lol! To be fair he was probably pissed off that it took alot longer than anticipated to do the work so rushed abit, did you get a receipt or was it cash in hand?
Tbh your MOT is soon I guess so at least then...
Just noticed, no MOT and currently SORN.
Also this quote reflects what Phil was saying:
"Do you know how much power the engine develops on the carbs?"
I’ve never had the car on a rolling road so I could not say. The car would benefit from some live tuning on a rolling road to set the carbs up"
