New clutch and revised cable helps this loads!! Had mine in two years now and its no where near as hard as it was before the change.
As mentioned the mk1 clutch is hard. Lol and used to snap cables on a monthly basis.
Drain the box, cut the old metal clip off push the rubber boot back in tight to the bearing. Then either jubilee clip it or get the correct clip and crimping tool. Then refil the box, it can be done without draining but wouldn't advise it
Or go to a garage and ask them to re clip it.
Fire a sample over i will wack it on the clio over winter and take pictures etc and give a review next year. The car is driven daily come rain sleet or snow more salt the better;) would be good to see how it handles the harshness of winter.

Tony i was in the exact same position the other week. I was told to send the exhaust to them or take the car down to them. They was not willing to cover costs of time lost from work or fuel !! Got it fixed myself in the end and sent them the bill which they refunded me, but lost the warranty on...
I would say its slightly down on power personally. When was the last time it had a good service and new plugs etc? A good service makes the world of difference. But saying that all dynos are different so don't take it as gospel.
