Did mine without the last time I did them. Aslong as the strut is fully extended then the new springs will go on without being compressed. 21mm for the strut top, I made this to help.

Think it's fooked :( When I hit the power button, all lights come on as normal, fan comes on, discs make a noise etc, but there's absolutely nothing on the screen. I've tried it with/without the battery in and still nothing. Had a look on the HP site and it says to reseat the RAM and if not...
