No not grease the top mounts! i am on about inside the car under the leather bit where your gearstick is.
Solid top mounts will clonk as there is no give in them.
Jack the engine up using a jack with a block of wood on the sump. you will cause alot of damage if you drive it like that. and have you put the connector back on the throttle body.
CS gets scarier everyday
Plus you won't have a throttle cable being a 182
Pop the gearstick gatior off inside the car and drop a blob of grease on the ball that should help loads!
The clonking on the coilovers could be the top mounts or just the harshness of k-tec coilovers
No not the alternator the main one that causes the problems is the gearbox earth strap, remove it from both ends and clean up the metal behind it..
There is also one that goes to the underside of the slam panel near the passenger side headlight this one can also corrode.
Shall be pointing slightly upwards like this.
you may find the wire end has a black plug on it so you may not see the green part till you take the plug off.
top front its a green plug, the tdc is further down and closer to the edge of the bell housing you cansee it in the very bottom leftof the pic below
Here is a pic of the reverse switch location
Perfectly normal cold start behaviour on an f4r engine pinking and popping are also normal.
the drivers footwell is something to do with some drainage holes under the scuttle panel i think? someone shall confirm though
