a few quick cr@p 'real' pics of a new clio 4.

Not sure if it's your camera, but that colour yellow looks hideous!

    ESP/Traction control question

It's the law to have winter tyres fitted in Germany iirc.

    ESP/Traction control question

err....if you got some winter tyres, reuse them next winter? It's not like you'll use an entire set in one Winter.

    GP out - Exige in

An NA one goes for about 17-20k I think. S models go up to 26-28k, with cup models even higher than that.

    ESP/Traction control question

The locking and lights are changed by holding the button down iirc, maybe ESP is done the same way. Not sure though.

    ESP/Traction control question

By default it should be on when the car is switched on. So when you start the car, is the ESP light on the dash lit?

Think i might buy this golf ...

I thought that. Americans could get more out of it than that!

GP Lol yeh. I'm not knocking the VX at all, epic cars. But the heater is just an after thought. It's crap.

    GP out - Exige in

GP Yes! Really well too! Mine gets proper hot, and doesn't take long to get that way either. And it has vents pointing at you, unlike the VX.

GP ....and I love those stage 2 exhausts. One of the ones I was looking at had one on, in central London it was! Driver was ragging it around, sounded epic! The over run was comically awesome too, in a good way, not like the shitty RSTuner Clio map.

GP I'm still in the club for now ;)

GP Mint. Welcome to the club ;) Is it an 'S'? Take it easy out there, might have tonnes of grip, but semi slick tyres on ice doesn't mix well.

    Wet track tyres

You can keep using 888s for ages after the markers. I bought a second hand set which were on the markers, and I got plenty of track days out of them. They were almost slicks (so no tread left) when I got rid of them.

    Wet track tyres

If you're on 888s and its wet, you'll have more fun ;)
  15. DanFreemanPhoto

    Wet track tyres

Well 888s are still good in the wet, it's just when it's proper wet, with standing water, that they just stop working I've found.

    Wet track tyres

Aren't R1Rs meant to be much better in proper wet conditions? Other than that, I would just use some normal road tyres like PE2s etc

Every post has been helpful, you just don't like what they say.

    Photographing Niagara Falls

I would just stick it in aperture priority, smallest aperture, and that will give you the slowest possible shutter speed for your camera in whatever lighting you have. Then just keep the camera as still as possible when taking photos.

    Question?

Polish then wax iirc. Wax is a last step process.

Insurance thread for young 1*2 owners

How did you get 6 points? I must say that if its for anything serious then I'm glad that these high insurance premiums keep people off the road.
  21. DanFreemanPhoto

    MPG.

    Pretty easily on long runs.

    extracting power from f4r

4-7, if correct, is still f**k all.

    extracting power from f4r

The RSTuner remap is much better value for money I think, especially if you know someone near you with the hardware. The bhp increase is negligible, but the map does improve drivability a bit.
  24. DanFreemanPhoto

    extracting power from f4r

Not massive though. Didn't you have an extra 20bhp or so this year in your car? And your lap times were only a bit lower, which of course in your competitive series is a lot, but for the average joe, is not a lot at all.
  25. DanFreemanPhoto

    extracting power from f4r

Don't bother wasting your money. Unless you go for forced induction, nothing will make a major difference.

    Rainx - its brilliant

G1 is very impressive, just a bugger to apply if you're not that experienced...like me! Rainx is a doddle to apply, which makes it appealing even if it doesn't last long.

    195/50R16 R888's X 4 on ebay

Drive on road tyres, with these in the boot. Swap them at the track. Do the reverse when going home. Simple.

    Where's my spare wheel?

Spare wheels just slow you down ;)
  29. DanFreemanPhoto

    Where's my spare wheel?

I wouldn't use that tyre weld stuff anyway. You should have a toolkit, mine was fastened to the right hand side of the boot interior.
  30. DanFreemanPhoto

    Where's my spare wheel?

The spare wheel is found in a can found in the boot somewhere ;) (So no spare wheel, and they're not run flats either)
