But Renault already do a turbo for that engine... ;)
It was Captain Slarty that was pioneering the Turbo for the 172 mate and it was using already manufactured Renauolt items.
I do all my own work...
Not just talking simple stuff like bolting on an induction kit or similar, I mean clutch changes, engine re-builds, etc... which I do myself.
Yeah, why not just all go to York and settle this on the strip...
We can have mk1 vs mk2 vs Cup vs VTS vs whatever and its all fair, timed and legal. ;)
I know for a fact that my mates mk1 172 will get kicked by a mk2 let alone a Cup, but thats a Friday afternoon car. Would be good to get...
Yeah, 0-60 the 106 GTi is near as damn it the same as the 306 GTi-6, but after that the 306 pulls away and as you said it is about 2 secs quicker to 100mph and the Rallye is then second quicker than that...
Its the mid range that the 306 scores on as the 106 lacks torque and needs to be kept...
Yeah, as soon as it went, both feet jumped on the pedals, it didnt quite go 360 but near enough, then I toom a deep breath, banged it in 1st and booted it off again...
Problem was caused by mailto:sh@gged">sh@gged tyres in this case, but I spun in near as damn it the same place last year when...
Well you heard wrong then... ;)
I had a 106 GTi and Im currently driving a 306 Rallye and I can tell you that the 106 is quick, but the 306 is quicker!

I agree with this...
When Ive used my cars to transport loads of stuff about before then Ive sometimes taken the seats out to get more stuff in. Hell, some car seats are really quick release and meant to be removed.
No way this would be an issue with insurance if you had an accident.
Exactly...
Peugeot did the same thing with the 306 Rallye too though, only option was the colour and climate control, but its very rare to find one with it fitted and I only know of one!
Defeats the whole point of the cars.
Which is what I did...
Rarer car, looks better (IMO), lovely leather seats, finished off nicer, better built and doesnt have the bad reputauiton of the Saxo, so I wne the way of the 106 at the time.
Still miss it too as it was a great little car!
Peugeot got Toyota in to help with VVT technology as its a new thing for them and in return, Peugeot helped Toyota out with diesel technology.
Just coincidence that its similar to the 172 engine...
