Right, been discussing this with Has but he's not online and I had a thought.. I have the option to upgrade my Sky package to Sky+ as we're going multiroom at my house. This would give me the ability to record stuff off Sky and keep it easily but on the downside its difficult, if not impossible...

www.dpreview.com is a great place to look Sam but not sure you'll find much to match the S7000 in your price range fella. I had to spend s**t loads on the 350D to take the next step and only if you're serious about cameras and have large amounts of disposable income does it become easier!
