Pads n disks are due to be replaced soon. Iv not looked myself yet.. but are they straight forward to do yourself like the 1*2's are? Same crack?

Hmmm.. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure, Offset controls the face of the wheels (how far it sticks out exterior wise). The width goes inwords, closer to the car and can result in catching the inside of the arch if too wide or wrong offset. Might be wrong but pretty sure that's correct. The Width...

As for spoilers.. Ditch the cup idea and go the next level.. Try and find a "Trophy" or "ClioV6" spoiler instead. They look alot more aggressive. :D
Either stick with 172 or buy a uber cheap run about (less than £1k). Doing what your thinking of doing just defeats the whole object of what your wantin to achieve and just going back a step.
I'd just stick with the 172 if I were you.
