Nah....
Both mine were cracked, £10 a ring from ebay......took about 25 minutes to fit.
If you are confident enough to pull the driveshaft from the hub you'll be fine.
EDIT: no driveshafts have to come out of any gearboxes.....why would they?
Jj
This is tragic, they are oviously covering the fact that the alternator did not fail by removing it. Now, you cannot prove that as we all suspect, it was fine and the workmanship was at fault.
You need to get that back though i suspect, its too late already.
So yeah, car comes back with a...
They are pretty easy to fit from what i have heard but you do absolutely need to have access to a Large Hadron Collider to do so.
If you dont have one of those, its a hacksaw job im afraid
Jj
Will pull the belt cover tonight.....
What are the tell tales of old belts pulleys?
Can i see this, would appreciate as much info as possible here.....need to know before i commit to half a grand tomorrow :S
Anyone know people in Rutledge Prestige Centre etc?
Cheers
jj
Well......i have only had the car for a month or so.
I think i have left it too late for detective work tbh....its in to Reno tomorrow for both belts, pulleys etc.
The car has been in limboland for a bit as far as i know...
Last serviced at Rutland Prestige Centre @ 35855 miles.....that...
Anyone know how i can guess if this has been done on my car if there is no evidence in the servcie book?
Car has 49k on it, its 2003......
Regards
Andy
I'm sorry, but £1200 for that work is fckn scandalous......mines in Reno tomorrow for both belts for 500........so thats 700 for brakes and a service?
I know it doesnt help but fk me
Jj
Righto....
Removed and looked at the CC internal sensor, fan spins up ok when ignition is turned on and there was only a wee microbe of dust on the sensor, not enough to affect it i think.
Also pulled both wee motors off the heater tonight to have a look, both look just fine.
Hmmm...
im sure the wee fans spins.....i think i can hear it in the morning
I also watched the wee cog moving ok on the heater itself.
will investigate a wee bit more this eve
cheers for the help
Jj
It does get hot when maxed out.....it just doesnt seem to have a clue about happy mediums
Whats the approach with the wee cc sensor/fan in the light unit then?
A wee vacuum or blow out?
Jj
Right so, driving home today I noticed something odd with my CC
It was 19 degrees outside but windy and cold from the wind
So i set my CC to 19 or so.......
But the AC light stayed on and the car simply refused to blow hot air
When i ramped the heat up to about 24 it started to get...
WTF?.......some people should get off their high horses, a wee bit of slagging never did anyone any harm.
The basic fact is that we could all get called chav's as we drive wee french snort boxes....
Its all tongue in cheek ffs so lighten up :|
The guy is game for a wee slagging, im...
Only winging you along mate, props for trying.
The bit of metal you have in there will do dick all squared, honestly.
If anything, itll make the heat issue worse.
As your car is getting hotter, im sure that filter location will slaughter it.
Ditch the tin and get the CAF in asap...
Received mine yesterday, yummy scrummy.
Am i right in saying that these differ from the standard discs in that they are vented around the centre/hub area as well as the outside of the disc?
I dont think that the ones on my car currently are like that?
Cheers
Jj
Mine didnt have the rubber base on them either when i tool them off so i am assuming it is not meant to be there....
Maybe a non sport clio or something in the pics?
Jj
Just wondering what your thoughts are on these?
Bought a set of brembo hc discs for the front and will be going genuine Renault for the rear because if the bearings and abs rings.
Was just wondering what your thoughts are with regards to me using standard mintex pads with it.
They are...
