Since I finished work early today and the car was filthy from the track day weekend. I thought it's prime time to give it a good clean!
Brake dust FTL! Couldn't get the wheels 100% clean! :( will have to do some major work on them this weekend to get them back up to standards!
Piers.
Cheers and Yea sure am.
I should of said. The LY182 ran brilliantly all day! Didn't miss a heart beat from the 30ish hard laps done in total from the day and drove back home with ease! Was really happy with how is performed and delivered! :)
Piers.
I bought the pads for £48 delivered of a polish guy on here, he had a few for sale in the for sale section. Bought the brembo HC's for £45 delivered from brembo (linked from here also) Bargain TBH!
Why what was wrong with the ds2500's? Maby try the next ones up, ds3000's?
I have no exp of CL...
Brembo HC's will be fine. But Brembo MAX disks are slightly better but prob not worth going for, unless the HC's are nearly shot.
Pad wise i'd go ferrodo. Anything from Ds2000 up (ds2500 are slightly better and Ds3000 are even better!)
just depends on your budget. I got my brembo HC's and...
Thanks, how come you wernt on the track?
Not sure tbh, I wasn't planning to as it's all more money maintaining 2 sets of wheels (refurbing and buying up to 8 tyres) :S i was thinking of going satin black when getting track tyres but still undecided :S
# UPDATE #
Been a while now so here goes.
So eventually got round to fitting the almighty turinis and repainting the calipers red :D
Then to celebrate the following weekend a tiny night meet was organised with a new local member PORTY (in my old 172)
I booked my 1st track day at oulton...
Iirc R888's are but what about AD-08's?
Camskil do them for £110 per corner (205-45-16). What are R888's Priced at, at this size (205-45-16) to compare?
Thanks.
Yea they can be harsh on the road but on the track they felt far better than the prolines I prev had.. Simple as that mate and I'm sorry if u have a problem with that.
Apex springs were far better than the prolines i had before. Alot less body roll on the track. FACT.
I only menchioned Vmaxx as he wasn't fussed about being quick around the track. FLOL, I think you guys miss understood me.
Iv learned from my very recent track day (yesterday!) that the standard setup (with apex sprigs) Is actually really good and alot of fun!
Coilovers would 100% make you quicker around the track. But seing as you are not fussed on being quick, just wanting to have fun. Don't bother with...
Cheers Roy.
And I assume it's the cable which goes straight to the caliper. The one with the spring around it. I assume the spring is the stop the line from expanding too much?
is this Correct?
FLOL! Ohwell, back up pads or when the ferrodo's run out then!
Lesson learned! Changed the pads today for my 1st time ever so it's all new to me. Il know for next time!
Thanks.
These are my standard renault pads, I was told about 1500 miles ago (when I get them checked) that there was only a few thousand miles left..
So iv replaced them with ferrodo's but look like they've only been half used!? I.e another 10-15k left on them?? :S
Thanks Piers.
