A number of other forums run trackdays at some of the smaller/cheaper tracks quite a lot.
CS.net trackdays that are open to non CS members (and therefore not just Clios) should fill up fine. Maybe open them up to booking for CS members a month earlier and with a little bit of a discount so...
This is my point. K Tec and West and likely a number of other places have probubly sold non cup shocks to cup customers and nobody has gone "OMG MY REAR END IS SO MUCH SOFTER"! So it makes me think there can't be that much difference.
This is about the rear shocks.
I've got new fronts and practically new rears. They were done seperately hence why I've ended up with a mix of cups and non cups as Ktec had them down as the same for the rears.
In another thread Wests said that was a mistake and produced 2 seperate part numbers.
There appears to be a...
What is the actual difference between the Cup and non Cup rear shocks?
Its clearly not enough for places like K Tec to even differentiate between the two, but apparently they are different?
What difference is there? And is it worth ditching 10k miles old non Cup rears to replace them with...
I had a nosey under the passenger side the other day while fitting my dogbone and there looked to be plenty of room to feed a pipe from the fog surround to the inside of the arch. At most you would have to move a horn. It would be far from a straight line, but with the air being forced in it...
What Daniel said, how did you end up with all that? Some things like the wheels would have been obvious when you collected it?
For me, no issues really. Only one for me with the Clio was being told after paying a deposit that there was outstanding finance. But that was paid off before I...
A twitchy rear end can be caused by rear shocks leaking. Check them for visble 'wetness' on the outside.
Ball joints at the front can develop play, just ask Ren Tec to check them when you take it in.
Welcome!
A retrimmed wheel is a must (although I just sold mine to replace it with an aftermarket one :))
K Tec exhausts get some good praise, as do the Milteck ones. Both are cheaper than Renault. They will make things louder though, so its worth bearing that in mind.
All Clios have lumpy...
So do you need 3.3kohm or 3.3ohm?
I've got two 3.3kohm ones from a mate and they don't seem to have worked. It's a bit of a pain getting them to sit properly so they make contact, but I've been trying for a while and got nowhere.
No material on front pads
1 front disc completely ruined by the above
no material on rear pads
dire need of a service
dogbone is buggered, needs polybushes
no steering wheel (LOL)
Got all the parts to fix the above though, just need the weather to allow me to do it.
If just go full pikey and have just a single set of 15" wheels you use all the time with RS-Rs which are perfectly good as both a road and track tyre :)
15" wheels are a definite! The tyres can cost half as much as 16" ones.
As for tyres, jumping straight to R888's is probably over kill, and expensive. Go for some middle ground. There are plenty of decent road tyres that people have used on track, and if you want something more track focused...
You can get a set of Clio keys off ebay for 99p with free postage. I ordered a set last night.
