Got Nick Hill to check mine when I was round there and mine shouldnt be as heavy as it is. That is what he told me and he should know the number of Clios he gets to see.
Obviously you get used to a heavy clutch cus its heavy anyway. Probably dont notice how much heavier it is. Think at 76k...
Yeah but be careful. Mine was tiff when I got it at 42k and now at 76k it is stiffer. You get used to the clutch being stiff so think its normal but the clutch as it wears, tightens, and gets stiffer. Getting mine changed soon so hopefully will be able to comment on difference. When you...
Should make a noise. If mine doesnt I check it and set it up like when it was fitted.
I find I get nearer 400 miles out of a tank in my valver with it working, about 350 with it off. Does seem to accelerate smoother too. I also got mine fitted properly and didnt bodge it on.
I went with elephant which was about 500 quid for 27 year old with 6 years no claims. Now with esure as that was about 460 quid but with protected no claims and zero voluntary and compulsary excess other than for theft which was 100 quid excess.
Worth trying them both but I find you have to...
Got them from andyspares (25 quid each) and got charged 50 quid a side to fit. Worth doing both at the same time, did on mine even though the nasty loud noise was only coming from passenger side and that was the pig to get off.
Did mine myself as place that supposed to service mine left the original one on there at 42k and I found this nearer 70k. Just find something to stuff in both fuel hoses that connect to it and unclip the filter from teh plastic restrainer noting that it will be full of fuel too.
Probably...
Someone is selling 4 on ebay. I only need one. Anyone else need any so that we can club together and split cost?

Standard weight I dont know. I do know that rotational weight is most important form of weight loss. You would have to get done at same time as a clutch is required as that would need to come off to fit and not worth doing that just for changing the flywheel.
Downsides I have heard that...
What do you want to know?
Not many people make a lightened flywheel for the valver or Williams. Luckily someone of good reputation will if they get a minimum order.
Helix website is http://www.helix-autosport.comhttp://www.helix-autosport.com if you want to check them out...
It seems Helix who make pretty good clutches are going into manufacture of lightened flywheels. Looking at getting one to fit at same time as clutch as it makes sense and wont cost anymore in terms of labour.
They will make them if a minimum of 5 people are definately interested. Reline...
Got them fitted to my valver from Performance Driven in Taunton as Ktec werent doing them at the time.
Ride is a bit harsher than standard but cornering, lane changes and overall manouvering is much better with higher speeds allowed and everything more composed.
Feel it is the best mod I...
Watch out for seized track rod ends like I found out when I got mine done. Bumps the cost up a bit if they have fun trying to sort out. Not sure if a squirt of WD40 or Plus Gas would help prior to taking if it is a worry.
Yeah I was gonna go for H&R but ended up with FK Automotive coilovers which I think are a bit cheaper. Both should be good as TUV approved so tested on car.
Yeah just come back from 140 mile round trip to get some Bridgestone S02s fitted on the rear and that place said probably wheel bearing. Noise is driving me mad now so gonna get sorted ASAP.
Nearly got the fronts done when I had it lowered. Wish I had now !!!!
Thanks for the advice every1.
Yeah Jas, was a member but didnt renew when it expired, never got round to doing it but will do soon.
Although I do not feel that it related to this post. Surely this site should look after all those that use it be them "user" or "member" status.
I would have expected to go somewhere and...
Will this website still allow evil ice to sponsor this section. This was the reason I chose to use them but I would question vetting in future as it could harm the cliosport name if "partners" as it were let it down.
My car has developed this noise and is getting worse. Had FK Automotive coilover fitted a while back and not sure if the lowered front is the cause.
My car is N reg 16v with 74k on the clock. Havent changed the front wheel bearings so that could be a cause. Wondering if driveshafts could be...
Have kept quiet until now, especially as Evil Ice is linked to this forum page but I booked my car in to get a stealth shelf, false floor finished and rear speaker fitted.
On the day I phoned to make sure it was still OK and got no response. Went to the address as stated on the website to...
Like BBs literature says. The best performance mod is to restore power by changing all filters (dont forget fuel filter) or cleaning any that are non standard (like K&N etc). New plugs, maybe leads. Oil change. Service really. At least that way you wont be down on power through service...
Dont think any1 should be upset about the silver option. Gives more choice and the cup isnt really a collectors car, just a very good priced sports car.
Id go for the silver if I could afford one.
I want better calipers than the stock so if I can get Brembo to fit standard sized Tarox diskc I have great. Otherwise Id go for the kit and have to sell my hardly used Tarox set up.
Thought calipers came in 4 colours or is this why they are so cheap?
AA check is apparently not as thorough history wise so dont skimp on not getting HPI.
1st valver I looked at, HPI showed it had a plate change and that was from some kind of accident so steered well clear.
Best improvements I have had done to my car are the BMC CDA air filter to sort out the crappy K&N sucking in hot air that was fitted to the car when I got it. Tarox G88 disks and pads all round to replace standard worn items (you need to stop). Chip that added a few BHP and got the best out of...
My clio has been a marked car by the cops since there was a fatal hit and run involving a clio.
Had the cops round twice checking my car and it turned out to be a red one.... Mines Blue !!!!
http://www.speeding.co.ukwww.speeding.co.uk is the best place I have found on the web for meguiars, only place I have found that does free delivery.
