my mate had a mk 2 gte 8v but everyone reconed it had work done as it was quicker than a normal one, we had a quick blast down an empty duel carriageway, as you say they have a LOAD of torque but as my valver got up to revs i was backing off, and i easily out paced him round an island!

even in standard trim the 16v turn heads, at work ive had at least 6 or 7 people asking about my clio, loads of people look as you go down the road, and i must apologise to the new shape 16v that flashed me on the way home, on the sutton road in walsall, caught me completly off guard, and didnt...

first car was a 1.0 micra, took it off the clock which went to 100mph, pretty nippy for a 1.0, beat 1.1 fiestas on a regular basis! never crashed it, but spun it a few times on wet islands, the tyres were so skinny if it was raining you could get wheelspin in 3rd!

wow, lucky escape! shame about your motor. I thought i might have had a similar story i had a leaking fuel return pipe, petrol was sitting down one of the sparkplug wells, i managed to fix that one by shortening the pipe, only to find a week later it sprang a leak in two other places! had the...

i think a load of these speed limits are a load of crap, the main road around walsall used to be a 50mph speed limit, which the majority is duel carriageway, there were a few accidents but two were old guys having heart attacts at the wheel and one was kids racing round in a clio rt at 70 mph...

probably a daft question, have you put the two iso connectors in the right way? one is for the power, ground etc the other for all the speaker wires. Wrong way and you are sending 12v to your speakers! alternatively the previous owner has cut a wire somewhere (maybe the remote live) to fit an amp...
cross-overs are an arse for interference! i had one before cus there were no filters on the amp itself but i couldnt get rid of the humm through the speakers. I found the only way to illiminate the hum was to take the cross-over out!
my bro saw that on the mg forum, i think its the french police in those pics, if they put those things round here and people found out about it they would soon be chucked in the canal!!

lofty, i have exactly the same prob, my exhaust knocks terribly on that bolt, im not very machanically minded and i dont wanna, not be able to get it back in again, i thought though if you could take the bolt out and add another nut on it to pull the bolt to the left slightly away from the...
