Now im a VTS owner and have the upmost respect for clios, their an affordable french hot hatch like the Saxo but im affraid an RSi will never do a VTS. I hope i dont get a flaming for saying this but its true.

Thanks guys, interesting stuff. How would i go about getting an extented test drive then?? How long can you keep the car for?? Im not doubting the 172 is faster by the way, its just i was stuck on ones arse around a series of b-roads the other day, must have been a crap driver.

That member with the VTS would be Craggy would it not? Ive looked in Evo and according to them theres 3 secs difference between the VTS and 172 to 100 mph.

I do like the 172 but i want good build quality with no niggling problems! Civic Type-R is on my list as well, what are 172s gearboxes like? Are the engines rough when cold like my VTS?

Nobody wants to help me then?

Hello there, as you probally know, i own a Saxo VTS. Im sick of its niggling problems though and want a 172. Does the 172 have many faults?? What is the gearbox like? I heard its abit dodgy?? Is the 172 engine still smooth after many hard driven miles? And lastly, has anyone here driven a VTS...

Nice to see people on here arent biased towards the clio, respect to you all.:) I might test drive a 172 at the weekend. Before the VTS i owned a VTR and the leep in performance was unbelieveable!

Well the power to weight ratio is very impressive on the cup (171 bhp per tonne). I just dont wanna waste loads of money on a 172 or Cup though and find performance isnt greatly better than my VTS. How are 172s around the twisties?

Well i just watched the craggy vs paddy video and can see where the 172s power comes into play. I had my VTS timed at 22.8 secs 0-100mph, what does the 172 do it in? About 18 ive heard?
