No probs. good luck with it.
Fingers crossed we should be out at Bedford autodrome on the 27th of this month. I know it's not the same as Donny or Oulton but I cannot wait to get it on track again!
Johny,
Plenum off then starter out the top. With rotation it comes out through the exhaust manifold to the passenger side. Didn't take too long but we could have been lucky finding the right angle early on.
Good job you got a nice torque curve in that Clio Chip otherwise you would have to slip the clutch to get off the line;)
After meeting James at Oulton I couldn't quite get over the size of him! Must have 3ft wide shoulders!
Good photo though
I know it's cheating a bit but I did a "drift" day at Oulton park on their low traction circuits. It was quite simply epic fun! Did have a video of it somewhere.
Another nice video Turkish!
Stokie4ker,
All that stuff sounds very similar to what I reading up on when Mike and I had a go at building one.
As James discovered previously! I think a manifold and plenum would offer a lot more scope for final year project. Would be nice to see some alternative designs too.
More info...
Congratulations with the result guys. Really enjoyed attending my first CSCC day; will definately come back for more next year!
Thanks to both of you for making us feel welcome and offering lots of advice if we were to progress our car to "race car" status:)
Hope there is one or two useable...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
cheers Tony - will pop over if the Burpspeed hospitality/media venue doesnt look too overwhelmed with pre-race tweeks etc

Quite jealous of you itinerary for the next few days. Almost sounds ideal!
Not promising to make it up there before quali tomorrow but i will be coming up to watch the main event! Good luck all.
Hopefully...
1- when I spun our injectors around for our custom inlet manifold I spun the clip too. That away the injector hole still lines up with the clip. Only the tang is missing then on the fuel rail that the clip keeps aligned on. Swings and round abouts really. After the rail is bolted down the...
:rasp:
I really wish we could just leave it alone and drive the thing:(
I will have you know our electronic trouble shooting skills are first rate;)
Lets look at the evidence:
Starter motor fault diagnosed and repaired
throttle body fault diagnosed and repaired
Dont think an alternator will...
Cheers Jonny:)
Wont be the fuse at that also feeds the starter motor permenant live and as far as I know thats still working when the battery is charged. Probably try and source a second hand / exchange unit for now.
Knowing you i'd imagine that question contains a certain level of sarcasm;) better be safe than sorry, and the sealant used came in a fixed width tape. Couldn't work out how much it was going to spread etc.
Ps- if what Mike is telling is correct we need an alternator:(
Looks good Mike. Front wheels have come up suprisingly well cconsidering how much DS3000 brake dust was on them :) good pics of the inlet too:)
Off out to clean our cars now:(
Give you a call later to talk about trackdays
The alternator body isn't that close to be honest - in the grand scheme of things. The closest part to the plenum is the alternator tensioning thread. If you had different length trumpets the back plate position will change so this might introduce other issues. We didn't want to angle the...
Cheers Russ. No chance of it fitting under the slam panel with that runner length and plenum volume. With the inner bonnet skim removed we have about 10mm clearance and have solid engine mounts. I think the plenum would have to be reduced to such an extent that it would be detremental to air...
Great progress Laine. Nice heatshield - nimbus is so nice to work with isn't it.
Shame about the filter:( I tried to get hold of one of those for our car but Jetex didn't have stock so went for the piperx instead.
