Daz: yes thats true, but some especially the newer Mac's can get pretty feckin hot so cooling trays are available with built in fans to make them more comfortable on ones nads!! lol

Never heard of that so fair play if it does the job, main thing with time capsule is the sheer automated nature of it and the simplicity of restoration....oh and the waaaaay over the top star wars title effect of retrieving a file that just looks cool! lol

2.66 be more than plenty, only time you'll see difference with processor speed is things like heavy heavy audio or video work, you'll be more than fine with the 2.66, 3rd party ram is fine and a portion of the price, crucial is your friend. get it done! :)

personally i'd say mac, i'm a little biased but able to take a clear view, they do just work and are a pleasure to use with some very nice touches, time capsule for backups, spaces and expose for switching between apps. some excellent deals on macbooks around at moment £599 i think i saw...

I am so jealous! I would LOVE to be able to use macs at work!!! I have a 'black'book, upped the ram to 2gb (thats the max on this version of it) had a 12" ibook before which was excellent, last me nearly three years and the logic board failed 2 days before applecare ran out :):):) result...

Thanks almaghrbi, one of my mates who works for van aarken told me that a lot of new cars have a limp home mode that when a sensor detects something wrong they limit speed and revs just to get you home! maybe this was it! either way a trip to renault for me!!

yep vnc works fine altho i believe u can do it without using vnc server on the mac as mac remote access thats built in will work with a vnc client on the pc
