I cleaned this on Thursday. This door had a pretty savage scratch so I wet sanded it and then machine polished it. Also put a coat of some sealant I had in my box just to see what happened.
I’d say that’s a pretty solid case for protecting the paint properly.
1.2 Clios were slow in 1994. With the added weight of the new ones I’d imagine they’re almost pedestrian.
*edit - Thinking about it - my mother in law has a 1.2 TCE so 100bhp? Thing is dangerously slow and the gear stick doesn’t feel like there’s anything attached to the other end of it. Like...
evening boyos.
I need some hard pads, a 5 inch backing plate for a Rupes Mk2 and a bottle or two of Rupes polish. Plus a few other odds and sods.
Best ‘one stop shop’ website to use?
I use Angelwax Glass sealant type stuff. H2Go or something?
Lather it all over, leave it 20 mins, spray a tiny bit of water on the screen and wipe off. Piece of piss. Lasts ages.
Was behind/next to this for a mile in traffic today. Sounded absolutely glorious every time he left a gap and booted it.
Just a shame Johnathan Woss chose the number plate.
I cleaned the engine bay on my mums car with a bottle of gunk and a hosepipe. Got rid of soooo much grime. This was when chemicals were proper chemicals!!
My mum then convinced two of her friends to have their engines done and being 12/13 years old I had no idea what I was doing. Both cars were...
If you’re going to try and piss all over someone’s misfortune at least have your evidence ready to back up your statement. I’m still waiting for you to show me how to build a car the same as this for less than £20k. But all you have are gif’s.
Enlighten me you irritating nonce.
Show me how you can build a rust free and never been welded Mk1 Clio 16v - with this spec - for under £20k.
I’m all ears…
This is now for sale. (Along with all my other cars - Orion, ph1 172, 182 FF RB, Range Rover, Foesta Zetec S)
Price is £12k. I wil do a proper advert at the weekend.
The only px I want is a sub £2k diesel estate car. Ideally auto.
Yep. I’m in contact with another guy about their s**t service/workmanship and incompetence- and worse still lying!
He’ll get his comeuppance.
But back on topic…
I’m going to sell it I think. I’ll get the clutch issue sorted for good and then I’ll do some pics and an advert. Which won’t take...
For the rear I Jack it up in the middle of the beam and then put stands at either end of the beam.
For the front, I do it the same way as @RichValver - no way I’m jacking it up on a sill or the subframe. 😂
Standard. Thats another thing it went to Beaniesport for and never got.
I put a B&M short shifter in the car and asked him to fit it. Came back with no B&M Short shifter.
The more I think about the more I need to just go and beat him up and delete his number and move on with my life.
Ever since the box went in. It’s a new (to me) gearbox. But unused since it was built. If that makes sense. I can’t even remember who I bought it off now. 😂
Car was dry and cold, out of direct sunlight, sprayed it on, left to sit for 2/3 mins, then washed the panels with a bucket of hot water and a microfibre cloth. (They’re more grabby than wash mitts - that was my justification)
I’ve used this on a car once, worked really really well. Also, if you can, hot water.

Whatever the cause - it’s rebuild time. If you run slightly thicker oil and don’t drive like a helmet, it could last for years like that.
But if you like driving it fast - you either need to buy another engine or have yours refreshed I’m afraid.
I have a Mk1 but knowing Renault it’s the same. 😂
Mine had worked loose and fell down inside the rear wing. As @Gus says, get the rear door card off and have a look inside. Even better if you have a magnet on a stick.
If it has indeed vanished in to thin air, just wang some bolts on and use...
