There is a thread in the progress threads area now for mine! ;) and the 205 is currently in the shop getting some final work done to get it on the market. The money will go into the mini and he is looking at getting a Clio 1.5 Dci now to replace the 205 with something cheap.

You also need to remember the bearing spacer. Sometimes these get forgotten about and get binned with the old discs as they can get stuck to them. Without the spacer being fitted between the hub and bearing the bearing will suffer damage a lot quicker. Contact @G 172, he is a trader on here...
Re: Hiiii, I'm new to clio sport, could do with a bit of help using the site please :
Yer! Stickers = Street cred and street cred = POWAAAAAR! 5 bhp for the Clio Sport forum sticker! ;)

Re: Hiiii, I'm new to clio sport, could do with a bit of help using the site please :
Welcome along! :) I would agree that the £12 membership is worth it! You get a snazzy bottle opener and a sticker for your car. Stickers add 5bhp and that's a well known fact. Membership also leads people to...
thread hijack!! ;) iv just changed mine back to standard. It's not a hard job if you are handy with the spanners and you can get a full set of secondhand standard springs from the forum for about £30-40. Just post a wanted message in te sale section. Took me about 2.5 hours to change all my...
Having just fixed a massively bodged lowering job on my 172 I would say don't skimp on this area!
If you go option 1: don't buy the cheap A-Max £60 springs off eBay/euro car parts/CP4L. I have spoken to a few guys about my options to fix my bodged job and they all advised against these...
Iv not even been to them but have crossed a few emails and they have been really helpful in sorting me out. Met a member on here to collect some parts and he couldn't rate the guys at Birchdown enough either. These references speak for themselves I think. Take it to them for your investigation...
Loads comfier, and handles loads better. It's clear I will need need new top mounts and bearings soon though. The rebound rate of my front shocks is terrible as a result of the cut springs also, so I'm on the lookout for a set of 172 cup shocks as an upgrade from standard. :)
plan to re paint...
How long ago are we talking?! The previous owne before me sold it because he needed the money for a more family orientated car instead if his other daily drive. I sold it because I was staring a new job and was doing some stupid mileage every weekend and also wanted something newer but...
:quiet: Maaa Baaaad! I did post again saying I stood corrected. Just looks shop-tastic around that front bumpers lower edge. I will now go have a slice of the delicious humble pie!
Just spent a few minuets getting this image on two different monitors and my iPad to compare. They are 100% shopped. Look at the inside edge of the front bumper, you can see where the OP has lowered the car by adding a new layer. The splitter is missing its inside edge and looks 2D. And then...
If you do some searching about you can find the belts and stuff cheaper. Birchdown offer the full service with the cam seal for £459 inc vat.
But £2200 for a ropey 182 isn't worth. I paid over the odds for my 172 and while on one hand, I regret it because I'm going to be pouring money into it...
I would love to give this car the attention the rallye got. Give it time and we will see what happens! :) new wheels would be nice, and some 172 cup dampers...new ARB and some pollybushing...ha. The list begins!
Coils swapped.
before...
after...
The springs in question, side by side.
Car drives loads better. It Would also be good to get new top mounts and dampers fitted in the future as everything should come off easy in the future now, it's all greased up and cleaned up to make working on the...
Cheers pal. Am I right in thinking you're the guy to talk to about wheel bearings and disks? Could do with all wheel bearings and some rear disks including those little spacer things!
Jack
I have actually contacted a solicitor who I am friends with for his advise. I need to double check that I actually have a case to chase them up over this. The sales receipt states "sold as trade" so I think that covered them slightly...or so they think! The fact they sold me the car as...
Productive day. Got the 182 cup springs fitted. The car would benefit from new front shocks and top mounts, the rebound on these has suffered and the bump stops look like they have had better days. Over all though, the car drives better than before. I'm much happier.
Got all the tools out...
The 182 will have air con so you will need the AUX belt doing at the same time as the cam belt and your dephaser should be done at the same time. I am due one soon... :( I have been talking to another member and he has explained why it's so expensive! The space you have to work on whole the...
My first car was an old mk1 Clio oasis 1.2! No before photos but looking back, the afters were pretty terrible!
the gear know had blue LED lights if you pressed the centre in! I also had blue footwell lighting that ran off the cigaret lighter!!
never worried about heat soak...

Scary indeed. Will be fitting them all tomorrow. After washing the car today I have left my top nuts soaking in a bath of WD40 and got the impact gun on charge to try and pop them off tomorrow! Heard they were a pig to get off so thought I would prep for it.
I'm going to contact the garage I...
Knocking on my old 106 and my mates Yaris T-Sport were the drop links. The knock on my TT was the Anti roll bar ball joint dust cover. Could be either of those I guess...
What I'm trying to say is what ever is causing it, won't be serious. Both the above were £20-30 for the parts and then either...
Im going to leave them. I like the look, I'm a fan of old cars and the retro style works on the Ph2 shape in my opinion, but they need tyres and you couple that with a refurb in a better colour and the price, would be better off just getting mine done and having new tyres fitted!
Today I set...
What do people think to Clio 16v Turbines?! Iv just been offered a set by the chap who bought my rallye! :) they would be white...but I would probably spray them anthracite or silver.
And cheers Fletcher. :)

I'm with Churchill. 26 with 6 years NCB. They aren't the cheapest but the service is second to non and the insurance comes with loads of stuff like breakdown cover, windscreen cover, like for like car replacement if mine is damaged/stolen, low excess! It's good.
also welcome!
