dont want to put anyone off, Im sure on a smooth road/track they would be very impressive, but on rough undulating tarmac roads (pretty much all uk roads) they could be better, but its the nature of the tyre.

Only reason why i say that is because i have tryed it. All you would need to do to properly shorten the shift (not the hight of the leaver is move the pivot point higher, but it will make gear changes slightly more heavier.

iirc, you can run a volvo/rsi alternator bracket to rid of the pas. A guy on here with a 172 engined mk1 used this and has a manual rack.
why not use the elctric rack found in the diesel mk2 ph1's and take a reading from the abs unit.... if your keeping abs.... which i dont think you are.

Janspeed, its the cheapest, wont see much gain, more free reving and a little more noise, dont be taken in by so called 'better' decats that retail for £150 etc because they are exactly the same as the cheaper ones, just have a few fancy welds.... which no one will see. At the end of the day its...
