You aren't ever going to get perfect results by hand, but you could try a very light grade sandpaper, like 2000+ and then SRP.
It will take you a while to get them glossy again though if you're only doing it by hand
Not got many good ones, but I know what you mean about the exhausts, they're a really dull finish anyway, made worse by dirt and grime.
That was after autosol, a bit of cloth and a lot of effort. After I finished I buffed them off with a MF and they came up nicely.
Nice spot tbh, and yes, it did take a f*cking age to get them back again!
Last time I did mine I had 1500 and 2000 grit paper, which will explain why I was scratching my head when the M3 headlights weren't shining up as quickly!
Still, no damage done, just a lesson in time management. No where...
