Nooooooooo other way around ;) Start with lower grits, but be gentle with them. If the scratches you make are too deep, they'll come through in the paint. Work your way up to higher grits like 1200 wet and dry, then 1500 wet and dry.

If you managed to boil the fluid on standard disks and pads, I'd be amazed. I think brake fade is what you experienced. Better pads will sort this.

Mr Fast Car off here offered some overfenders up to his car, but they just looked wrong. Exactly the same car, a ph1 172. I'm yet to make my mind up on whether that looks ok or not. Lack of grill looks hard as f*ck though. Do approve.
