Custom AVOs fitted and setup by Northampton Motorsport. I've also put DS3000s on and very happy with their feel. Also removed the 16mm spacers, as I wasn't happy with how they felt.
Found the sticker that I'm responsible for the slogan, so only fair that that got put on.
Drive mine to each race. Makes no sense to either hire or buy a 1k trailer, also it's bad enough having one car sat doing nothing for 350 days a year, let alone another big boring car to tow with.
Haven't been for about 5 years now. Seems to be a fair few old school stuff. Last time I went, it was mostly Mk1 FRS and Asbo STs. Almost miss my RS2K when I see these.
New coilovers are being fitted next Wednesday.
Highlights from the Donington race. Recorded onto my mobile so not the best but it's there for those that don't have Motors TV.
Something not right there mate. I used them in my black one, when it was still in daily use and track days and they were perfect all of the time. I see various posts about pads and the only ones, that never have any adverse comments are Pagid.
Had a phone call from Nigel at AVO, to say that my new coilovers for the black one are there and ready to be swapped over. Just need to book back in with Northampton Motorsport for cornerweighting and geo setup again. No rush as the next definite race for me is at Silverstone in October. Doing...
No, the plaque is spot welded to the a post section so a scrutineer can tell what cage it is.
The sample never got done, as I can't see me doing any foreign events so don't need it to that spec.
The offset is often shown as ET. I would recommend between a 35 to 40. The lower, the number, the further the wheel will stick out, therefore fill the arch better. The difference in size is minimal so you will hardly notice the difference. Either a 195 or 205/50 15 tyre is ideal. Look at Team...
I'd choose Yoko AD08Rs over Fed RSRs. Slightly better road manners and wear a bit better as RSRs wear on edges quite badly without decent camber. Also excellent all round trackday tyre.
Back at Prescott hillclimb this weekend and what a result! Never expected to come away with any prizes, as we had a packed class of 15 entrants. Nearly punched a hole in the window when I saw my time on the last run today....51.88 Good enough for 3rd in Class,
Nothing wrong with the Lonsdales for the price. I use them on trackdays as they feel similar to a race boot. Could quite happily use them in my hillclimbs but I have OMP boots, as I circuit race too. How about the Puma drift I think they're called then? Double the price, almost the same but a...
Havingbl had it confirmed that I was on the rally spec AVO coilover, they are swapping them for me. Can't fault that for service. At least that confirms my suspicion of my poor lap times.
Based on the customer service I have just received, I cannot recommend AVO enough. Has it confirmed that I was on wrong spec and they are swapping it free of charge.
Chris at Northampton Motorsport wasn't impressed either. He phoned AVO and they told him to phone Nick, he did and apparently Nick asked why they told him to phone him. I had to buy helper springs to make them fit properly. The springs are too short for the damper, partly because the dampers are...
