Yea it's a good point actually, I'm ordering one now . Can I just make sure I've got this all sorted then
Remove alternator, remove AUX belt (jubliee clip method to absorb tension), swap out AC unit, all back together and belts back on and the tensioner will auto tighten so no need...
All belts (including AUX) were changed just 2500 miles ago so no need to change any  so if I take the AUX belt off (which as you said is necessary), do I need to tension again?
Thanks Budgie
Hi,
As per a previous thread I need a new aircon unit, I've ordered a replacement and should have it by the weekend. Will I be able to fit this myself? I'm not 100% sure but it looks like I might have to remove the alternator which would mean removing the AUX belt? Or can I change the AC...
Spot on thanks Dan! Do you think this could have gone when the water hit the car or just a coincidence? Any idea if these are sold separately or do I need to buy the whole compressor?
Again, thanks a lot pal, after re-googling it that's definitely it!
Progress! Firstly, the gears felt spongy because of sponge lol, sound deadening was fouling the gear linkage under the car, all sorted now. We could not get to the bottom of the whirring noise until I accidentally turned ON the AC and the noise completely disappeared. After trying this a few...
Awesome, same setup as Southport then I'd imagine! Been busy? We've just had a large scale search and rescue for a missing plane that's crashed 3 miles offshore
Think I'll park her at home tonight and leave her be until the weekend, I'll post my findings, I mean she's running, and running well but after the replies it's probably better safe than sorry!
What station are you at Boz? What's your role there? o>
Hi Boz, thanks for the reply! How did you get on at the station? We flooded quite badly last year but managed to dodge a bullet this time! Thanks to the westerly wind it just went side on to our boat house and not straight through it!
Well the noise is constant, like a whirring, it increases...
Hey,
So I went to make sure our RNLI boathouse wasn't flooding this weekend with the high tide and winds. Stayed for an hour with some crew and then decided to leave, anyway when driving off the prom a huge wave came over the sea wall and must have put a good foot of water under my car. I felt...
Looks fantastic, nice colour too! Looking at the exact same car myself, how does the performance feel over the 172? I won't even bother asking about the comfort...
Really feel for you mate, it would be nice if the CCTV returned something useful but then even if it did, it'll probably just be some scrote with no money
Exhaust sounds great! I'm running the same system and although mine has a lovely note at 3-5k revs, it generally sounds nothing like yours! I'm certain I have a leak somewhere
Well depending on your current products, the following are well worth having!
x2 buckets
Clay Bar
Compound and Polishes for your machine (and different pads), I like the Menzerna range for polishes
Sealant or Wax
Iron Out and Tar Remover
Drying Towels
Metal Polish
Tyre Shine
Detailing brushes...
