Mine drones from the Interior lamp also, I believe loads of them do it mate, there's a small fan in there which has something to do with the climate control. you can clean the fan and lubricate it and that can shut it up a bit.. i've never bothered. Cant see that would cause the...
Point 1 - Po443 is to do with the carbon canister you're right, I believe there's a fix you can do with a resistor or just plug the purge valve back in and tuck it away (could be wrong)
Point 2 - There's some washers you can remove to give 10-15 mm drop.. not that significant but may help...

I just replaced mine as i was getting a CEL for a fault with mine, £23 posted from Renparts who are a trader on here, Not worth messing around @BuCkLeY... just get it changed mate.
If they're the same as a 172, jack up drivers side remove the wheel, unclip the front section of the arch liner and you'll see it there - undo the 3 13mm bolts and it'll drop down, unplug the sensor, take the 2 pipes off. Bingo Bango. easy.
