I'm happy with my 5S for now, I can upgrade through O2 refresh so I'll see if my want levels are high enough nearer the time, but phones don't excite me as much now tbh, I still find the gold 5S a stunning looking device.
I nearly bloody ran out of fuel on Sunday up there, the gauge was below the red mark, fuel light was on, and the trip had gone to 4 dashes on the range!! It seems all the local services shut up shop on Sunday.
Must have been low as it took £77 to fill!
+1 it's amazing what you can get in them, I've had 6 asda bags behind the seats and 3 more in the front storage tray! Weekly shop, done!
Weekend away there with luggage etc for 2, washing equipment etc and a tool kit. No problems at all.
The thing is, they feel special at 10mph, and they manage to feel absolutely nothing like a clio at all, yes so the dashboard etc is the very same. That's pretty much where it ends for similarity.
Turbo / supercharged has been tried and tried again and always ends up failing. Heat management is also a huge issue back there.
I wouldn't actually want much more power out of the car, on a twisty B road it's got just about the right amount in my book.
Honestly if you can afford it, I'd say just do it! They are actually appreciating nicely these days too so they are only going to get dearer to buy. You'll love it matey
Honestly you get people taking photos and smiles from everyone you go past.
Got to say if it wasn't for weekends such as this and the lake district tour I'd have sold up ages ago. It just makes it all worthwhile.
Just got home from the v6clio.net Scotland tour. What an absolute blast of a weekend. The weather was stunning and the roads were just heaven. Big thanks to Ali and Simon for sorting out the route and the stop offs along the way.
Some pics of the weekend.
Rare to see 2 mars reds...
Having owned a ph1 back in 2006 they definately arent a bad handling car, but theres no doubt the ph2 is the better drive.. just feels tighter and more stable.
Now I find the styling of the original just so cool. Andy's ph1 was following me on the lakes meet recently and they look mega...
Cheers guys. Have to be honest it wasnt really my cuppa at first. Mainly because im not a huge Ford man, but im definately starting to see the cool side of it.
The oselli 3.1 engine and cossie 5 speed box are now in... No pics of the bay yet as there is some final tweeks and setting up to do. But as the car was dusty from the garage doing the work I gave it a nice clean up this morning and grabbed some pics.
Front still needs to come down...
