Wossner 9-5-1 pistons. I used these instead of 8-5-1 to give it more low down punch. I used 83mm which I believe takes it to 2013cc I bought these from Engine Dynamics.
The rods are the generic PEC ones that are sold by a few company’s. I bought these off eBay.
The valves are Supertek. Inconel...
Yes JC5 rebuilt with Quaife. Chris from EFI said it was trying to make a lot more torque but he kept knocking it back for reliability and drivability on track.
This seems a lot of work just to change some turbo studs ? I’ve ordered some Resbond extreme temp threadlock from the US to so hopefully these inconel ones won’t come loose.
Stick to your price mate, someone will buy it .. We’ve bought 2 Clio turbos over 5.5k in last couple of years. If yours would have been for sale this time last year I could have sold it instantly .. there are people out there who aren’t afraid to spend money it’s just waiting for that person to...
Yeah it’s faster then I thought it would be. I’ll try get both my cameras working next time I’m out as this one failed to record 2 of the 3 sessions I did.
Bought some inconel studs to hopefully stop the turbo to manifold coming loose ... feel a little bit violated at over £100 for 9 studs ? not looking forward to changing them either.
Bought some new pads to, these are the 1177 listed at the bottom of the graph, I might try some castrol SRF fluid...
Done my first track day as Turbo’d car today. Very rusty (shite) techniques, have to drive it a bit differently to before.
Had a couple of small issues, turbo to manifold studs came loose so I’m going to fit some locking tabs, other thing was boiling the brake fluid, it used to hit about 115ish...
Bought a new air filter for track use. Mr Policeman didn’t like it very much when he pulled me over earlier ?
Also managed to pick up 8 used R888R’s locally for spares.
I’m a panel beater for a big insurance approved garage. I’m sure if these kits were that good we would use them ... but we don’t.
I would 100% pay for PDR these guys are amazing.
If I got paid for every day I’ve been in hospital I’d be a rich man ?
Thank you. It drives lovely, hoping to get a track day sorted in the next few weeks.
