ninite.com as mentioned. Great for all the legitimate free software without addons.
I’m jealous. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.
Add Laguna Seca and 17 mile drive to your list of things to do from Monterey! Well worth it. I guess you’re also planning to go whale watching?
Some of my snaps from last year are here.
Have fun!
We did California last summer. I had my 24-105, 70-200 and a 80mm prime. Nearly everything was either shot on the 24-105 (normally at the 24mm end) or my phone. For the time I needed a tripod (Milky Way shot at night) I just used my camera bag with a remote release (glad I bought that along, but...
Give the users a user account, rather than one with adminstrative priviledges for an extra layer of security too, unless you want them to install everything.
GTAV and a couple of the Lego games are probably the only games I’ve actually completed in the past 5 years! I used to do all the COD/MOH careers on the PC, but the Xbox is just to easy to turn on and off again. I’ve just got into Forza 3 again as my two boys have started playing it so I might...
The Dell Optiplex range might also be worth checking out.

They have both all in one and small form factor PCs for a decent price.
16GB is probably overkill. 8GB would be fine unless you are doing graphic intensive work...
I use a set of Bose QC35s for work and would never go back to in ear.
I enjoy being able to listen to spotify on the laptop, get a call on the mobile and they automatically pause spoitfy, annouce the call to you and with one press of the button you can connect the call. I work in an open plan...
Ours are 8 & 10 so I hoped old enough to hold onto the memories. Having so many photos should help...
Good tip on the Milky Way shot. I still have some editing to do before they go in for the album. Sadly, it was a one time event. The other parks didn't offer the same view/ dark sky/ weather...
Thanks! It was easier to grab the iPhone a lot of the time, but having a propera camera does help get some shots that the phone just can't.
Enjoy your travels! Look forward to your thread when you return. ;)
Thanks!
We were busy for over a year with the preparation and booking of this one. We booked flights and camper through a travel agent, but took care of all hotels and campgrounds ourselves. My wife is more organised than me and made a book with a daily itinerary, tips of things in the area to...

We had four weeks touring around the west coast of the USA this summer and came back with a mountain of photos. I thought I'd share a couple. Taken on a mix of iPhone and Canon 5DII (24-105 & 70-200 f2.8LII).
For the first week, we hired a Camaro SS at LAX and had planned to spend a couple of...
Thanks for that! I'm using 24mm f4 on a 5DMkII (24-105 lens). I resorted to the H2 ISO, which isn't pretty RAW.
I did some reading last night and came across the 500 rule. Hopefully I can try again tonight if we have clear skies.
I need some tips for star shots. (@Aaron.. ?). I tried a couple last night but got blurred stars on exposures longer than 1 minute as the planet is turning. I resorted to massively high ISO and f4 with a 15 second exposure. There must be a better way?
I was shooting a mountainbike competition last weekend. This was one that stood out from the other 300 standard action shots:

Nice pics. I was gutted to have missed Central Station when I was there. I can't wait to take my kids there when they are older, it's one of my favourite cities.
 You wouldn't have buyers remorse if you were to do it. If NC is important, they win most tests... I'm really happy with the audio too, but there are mixed review from audiophiles.
Good luck! Work out the difference it costs per day over three years of use. It's always an easy way to...
I think AKG only have one or two models with NC, not sure on the model number. The were more on ear than over ear, so might get a bit uncomfy after a couple of hours.
I was impressed with the cabled ones, but wrote them off as I wanted wireless.
It's a lot of money to drop on a set of...
I was quite impressed with the Sonys when I was looking a while back, those a pretty unbeatable at that pricepoint. AKG were also worth a look, but I think their wireless model is above your budget.
I opted to spend a bit more an got the Bose QC35's. I love being able to listen to Spotify from...
