Is iTunes up to date? What packages have you got installed via Cydia? Are you updating or restoring?

In your jailbreak, have you got wifisync installed from cydia? If so, uninstall that from cydia and try again... Also, maybe worth downloading PKGBackup in cydia to backup all your repos and plsit files etc so that you can restore a backup from dropbox of all your jailbreak stuff...

Install winterboard. Install pwncenter and then install all sources. Install Stefwiz and install all sources. Browse cydia for themes etc. I recommend lockinfo, sbsettings, colour keyboard, mywi (tethering for free)... Just google for top cydia packages etc... I only use mine for theming...
