^^ This, I looked at the Tab and the Dell Streak before buying an iPad - they were both shat in comparison.

I use a mifi from 3, minimum 3mb wherever I use it, in a good area i've seen 5+mb. Handy little gizmo that creates it's own wifi network that will accept up to 5 devices at once.

Not having the same crap memory management as windows means adding RAM has less of an effect for general stuff, as Gabi says, an SSD will make a much MUCH bigger difference.

Yes it's worth it for sure. I put one of these http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=CTFDDAC256MAG-1G1 in the laptop laptop and it goes like a b*****d now, it's an i7 so it wasn't exactly slow anyway but the SSD made a massive difference. Only paupers rotate these days ;)

I'd agree with this, an SSD will make a massive difference, certainly did on a windows i7 laptop, 15 seconds from off to usable desktop, highest throughput i've seen yet is 245mb/second - oooer missus ;)

Sell you a Mac? I've got a mint condition G4 Cube with 1gb ram & a 120gb HD - that was the most it could handle. £50 and it's yours

Same as AndyRS really, I only bother with a 77mm UV on the 100-400 and the 24-105 as they stand me at a couple of grand but on a £60 (when I bought it) nifty fifty I don't bother. If I had the 50mm f1.2L that would be a different matter altogether ;)
