Being female, and driving for 2 years, your quote shouldn't be too high on a 1.2 16V anyway surely?
I had 3 points at 18 and no NCB and was £700 for a standard 1.2 16v dynamique.
Awesome turnout that. Did the guy with the sticker'd up Vee manage to go for five minutes without mentioning how some V6Clio members don't like him? ;)
Get an 04 plate onwards Dynamique if your budget will stretch, better kit than the Authentique/Expression poverty spec stuff, better engine too if it's a 1.2 16v as they changed it in 2004.
LOL at, well, everything. The car, the mop, the broom, his nose, his hair, how piss funny he looks with clown's shoes and pathetically skinny legs, the list goes on.
I agree with Danny, f*ck Renault, my experience with them/knowing a few from the local dealership personally leads me to believe they're all f*cking muppets. I'd much rather buy one from an enthusiast on here who knows what needs done and when and has looked after it.
Mine will be going in soon...
Spot on as always , exactly what I was going to do with the 172 if I'd have kept it, decent drop, tasteful wheels, fresh badges and kept tidy. Perfect.

PM him, he's already done it so knows what he's doing. He used the air recirc button as the starter IIRC.
It seems some people are confused.
He's not talking about the shift beep, turn your volume up, listen out for the "chirp" just after the shift beep, it shouldn't be making that noise.
Wouldn't pay attention to the front lowering figures. They'll easily sit the car low enough to get stuck almost everywhere.
The rears will be at least 60mm, more if you take the adjuster out.
